A/N: It's going to be a long chapter so cuddle up and grab a snack. (I've been writing all evening while it's storming and I'm in love with hearing the rainfall on my house, I just hope I don't get struck by lightning. I should probably unplug my laptop from the wall.)

Sage.

November 16, 2018.

Finally finished getting ready I turn off all the lights in my apartment and walk out, locking the door behind myself. One step out my door, my foot hits a heavy item making my ankle twist and my body hit the floor. "Fuck," I whisper yell as my ankle is now in extreme pain. Looking beside my foot I see a fairly big rock sitting in the hallway. My eyebrows furrow in confusion. Who'd leave a huge ass rock right in front of my door?

I pick it up and once turning it over there's a message written in what seems to be black sharpie, "I'll kill your bitch!" Not Sophia... I was afraid this would happen; not that I think she's capable of killing... but she is definitely not right in the head. I shake it off, throwing the rock in my bag and continuing to make my way to the elevator but of course, I am limping and now my anxiety is seeping in. I was doing so good, I was excited this morning when getting ready to head to Interscope records.

After stepping out of the uber I look up at the building, still shocked that I am even allowed in this building. A few months ago it was only a dream, now it's a reality and it's a bizarre one. As the elevator doors close my phone buzzes in my pocket. I pull it out as the lift takes me to the second floor.

Billie: can i pick u up after ur meeting?

Sage: I'd love that

Billie: bet, i'll be waiting

A smile takes over my face as I walk into the conference room, a few people from the label, a girl with mid-length dark hair, and Finneas are already sitting there, talking amongst themselves.

"Sage, you made it!" Finneas exclaims, patting the chair next to him. As I sit down, I shove my phone in my bag. The tension in the air is filled with both excitement and nerves.

"So, a couple of things. First, I'd like you to meet Avianna," Andrew points over to the girl sitting across from me. She gives me a warm smile that I reciprocate. She seems kind and a little shy. "She is your new manager, your day-to-day. She'll be booking shows, doing PR, money management, and being your personal assistant. As of right now we feel you only need one person but as you get bigger we will find more people for your team to manage the different aspects," Andrew explains while I nodded my head in understandment. I honestly didn't think I'd ever get an assistant or manager, none of this feels real and it's overwhelming if I'm being honest.

"It's so great to meet you, I've heard lots about you," Avianna smiles, I just smile back at her, unsure of what to say.

"Okay, and this one may come as a surprise to you," Andrew clears his throat... This one? Getting a manager is enough of a surprise. "You need to have an EP done in at least two months. We know it's a lot to ask but we also know you and Finneas are capable of doing it. Your single has taken off and become huge, we need to keep the fans excited, engaged. We'd love for you to be more active on social media, keep them on their toes."

"T-two months?" I stutter out, anxiety rising to my chest. I probably have enough lyrics written but none of them are good enough for a first EP. Andrew nods his head 'yes.' "You have a manager now, you don't need to worry about daily tasks like making food, driving places, scheduling your events, she'll do it all for you. Avianna has tons of experience so you can stay focused on your music," Andrew assures me.
