NAYA POV

I woke up Wednesday morning and my head was pounding. That's what you get for drinking all night. I looked down and realized I was still in my outfit from last night. Wait. How did I get home? Last thing I remember is that I was dancing with...OH NO. Damien. I slapped my forehead. What did you do? You are so stupid Naya.

I reached over for my phone which was charging on the nightstand. I definitely did not put it to charge last night. I looked at the time.

"10:18! NOOO! FUCK! I'M LATE!" I jumped out of bed but instantly fell back down because I was exhausted. I was not in the state to go to the program. I decided it was best I skip for the day. Maybe I can ask Chuck for notes.

My stomach decided it wanted to kill me, so I ran into the bathroom and threw up into the toilet. I'm never drinking again.

I walked back to bed and sat down. I drank the cup of water that was already there. Definitely did not put that there either.

I decided to text Violet to see what even happened last night. I prayed I did not do anything stupid.

naya: you up yet?

She responded a few minutes later.

violet: just woke up. feel like shit

naya: same. do u remember what i did last night?

violet: naya i don't even remember what i did last night. i'm sorry but i can't help

naya: rip us

violet: shouldn't u be at that program u joined?

naya: woke up too late :(

violet: oh i'm sorry. wanna help me clean the cage? damien is being an ass and won't help me

naya: sure, but i need at least an hour

violet: girl dw me too. come by at like 1

naya: ok see you

I went over to the cage and saw Violet picking up cups off the floor.

"Hi, Naya." She greeted me and I greeted her back. "Can you go clean the bar up?" I nodded and went over there.

We finished cleaning in an hour.

"Come on. Let's go to the back." Violet lead us to Damien's office and we both sat down on the sofa.

"Is Damien not here?" I asked.

"Nah. He dropped me off but said he had to go do something. He'll be back soon, though." I nodded. "Oh my gosh! You want to know who texted me today morning?" She had a big smile on her face.

"Who?"

"Jake. I danced with him last night. And I'm hoping I didn't do anything stupid. And he just wanted to make sure I was ok." She explained and I saw a blush rise on her face.

"Awww. You like him, don't you?" I teased her.

"Nooo." She lied with a smile on her face.

" YOU DO!" I exclaimed.

She tried to turn away from me. "Ok. Fine. Maybe."

"AHH YAY! From the few interactions I've seen between you guys, he likes you too." I told her.

"What? No!" She tried to deny it.

"Yes, he does!" I persisted.

"No way." She said firmly. "But do you remember anything you did last night? I'm sorry. I kinda left you alone last night."

"No, it's fine," I told her.

"I hope Rocco kept you in good company." So that probably means Damien didn't tell her anything?

"Oh, yeah. We drank and talked." I lied to her. I wasn't sure how she would react if I told her I danced with her brother. And whatever else might have happened.

Just then the office door opened. My back was towards the door, so I turned around.

"Violet, are you-" Damien caught my gaze. I couldn't tell from his facial expression, but he was definitely thinking of last night. Oh, God. What happened last night?

"Yeah. We finished." Violet interrupted the intense eye contact.

He took his eyes off me and looked at his sister. "Ok. I'll drop you off at home. I have to come back for a meeting tonight."

"Can I stay?" She asked him.

"No. You have to go back..." Damien continued, but my attention was caught by my phone dinging.

Unknown: Hi Naya. It's Chuck. You weren't here today? Everything good?

naya: oh yea. i'm fine. I just had some errands to do.

I lied.

Unknown: Oh ok.

naya: maybe you could give me your notes?

I was going to add 'in class tomorrow' but he texted first.

Unknown: Yeah yeah of course. Do you want to meet today? I'm free

naya: sure

"Naya?" Violet called out my name.

I looked up at her. "Oh, sorry."

"Damien's dropping me home, so..."

"Oh. Right. I'll get going."

Both of us stood up and walked out of the office. Damien was already outside.

"What were you looking at?" Violet asked.

"Oh. Um. This guy from the program wants to meet later. So I could get his notes." I told her.

"Ooo. Fancy." She raised her eyebrows up and down.

I playfully slapped her arm. "It's nothing like that."

"Mhmm. Sure." She walked away before I could say anything.

Chuck and I were meeting at a Starbucks. I walked in and saw him sitting at a table already, so I walked up.

"Hey, Chuck!" I took a seat.

"Hey!"

He gave me his notes which I copied down. We even chatted for a while. I told him about my job at the bar, and he seemed very interested in it and asked questions. It was a little weird, but I ignored it.

"Naya." I nodded my head. "I was wondering if we could meet again. But, you know? Like a-" I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion. "Date?"

Oh wow. Ok. Chuck seemed like a nice guy. And he was attractive. He black hair that was slicked back and dark brown eyes. I noticed he was also very muscular.

"Yeah. Yeah. I'd like that." I agreed.

"Ok great." He breathed in relief. "I was nervous for a sec." He chuckled. "I'm actually really busy this weekend. But how about next weekend?"

"Sure. I'm free. "

"Great. I'll text you the details next week."

"Ok. See you in class."

"See you."

We both parted ways and I made my way back to my apartment.

I was going on a date. It had been a while since I actually went out with someone.

I decided to text Violet.

naya: i'm going on a date with the guy next week...

violet: ahhhhh i knew it
