We reached Damien's place about 10 minutes later. This area was definitely nicer than the one I lived in."Is that yours too?" I pointed to a shiny black Audi R8 in the parking spot next to where we got off his Harley.
"Yup." He didn't let me say anything, but my shocked facial expression said enough. "Come on." He gestured for me to follow him. We stepped into an elevator and he pressed the button for the top floor.
We stepped out and he led me to the door at the end of the hall to the left. Damien unlocked it, letting me step in first and I was shocked at the sight in front of me.
"Woah." I gaped at the place.
All the walls to my right were actually windows. There was a huge living room and a giant TV. On the left, was first a long wall, but then I saw the kitchen with smooth cabinets and marble countertops. And straight ahead was a hallway, which I'm guessing led into the bedrooms.
Damien hung his keys up and walked to the living room. "You can go to the bathroom if you want. First door on the left." He pointed down the hallway.
I nodded and walked to the bathroom. There were two sinks to my left, a toilet in front, and a walk-in shower to my right.
I did my business and walked up to the mirror. I looked at myself and instantly shuddered. My hair was disheveled, probably because of the helmet. I had tear stains on my face. I can't believe Damien saw me like this. I put my hair up in a messy bun and washed my face.
I walked out and saw Damien in the living room. He had turned on the fireplace.
"Where's Violet?" I asked.
"She's sleeping over at a friend's house." He responded and I nodded. "You can sit down." He patted the sofa and sat down. I walked over and took a seat, unsure of what was going to happen now.
The room was silent, as I stared at the floor. I could feel Damien's eyes piercing the side of my face. I looked at him. "What?"
"Are you going to tell me why you were crying?" He brought his legs up onto the couch, one folded in front of him and the other folded upright against the side of the sofa, and his elbow resting on it.
"I-" I wasn't sure of what to say. I didn't want to tell him about my family. Not because it was any type of secret, but I just didn't want him to look at me with that face. The face everyone made when they found out what happened to them. The face of sorry. And it wasn't just their face, but the way they acted after. Thinking they couldn't talk about being a family or anything happy around me.
"Belle." Damien lightly touched my knee, bringing me back to reality.
"Damien. It's nothing." I turned away from him. Tears were already reforming in my eyes.
Naya. Stop crying. You're so weak.
"Why do you keep saying it's nothing? I know it's not nothing."
"Because I don't want to tell you!" I raised my voice at him and stood up from the couch. My back was facing him, so I couldn't see his expression. "I don't want you to see me like that!"
I heard him get up from the sofa, and he walked up to me, putting his hand on my shoulder. "Like what?" His voice was soft and gentle.
"LIKE I'M SOME FRAGILE DOLL. READY TO BREAK AT ANY SECOND." I yelled and turned towards him with Niagra Falls gushing out of my eyes.
Damien cupped my face with both his hands and wiped my tears away with his thumbs. "Belle. I would never think you're broken. But I know there's something you're holding in. And I think it's best if you let it out."
