One year later

It was December in New York. The city was cold and everyone was getting ready for Christmas. Violet was helping me decorate the apartment. A few months ago, Jake had asked Violet to move in with her, and she gladly accepted. Since then, it's just been Damien and me in the place. He takes that to his full advantage as he just walks around the place naked half the time. I constantly have to remind him that he has huge windows that line every wall, but he just says "Why hide such a glorious sight?"

"Does Damien know you bought this many decorations?" Violet asked me.

I shrugged. "He just gave me his credit card and said buy whatever you want."

"I don't think he meant the whole Winter Wonderland." Violet climbed onto the ladder.

"Well, that's his problem. This place needs some spicing up." I opened a box of lights.

The front door opened and in came Rocco. Rocco also recently found himself a girlfriend. They apparently met at the bar and really hit it off. She was really pretty. She had darker skin and curly black hair and these gorgeous grey eyes. She was also really funny and fit perfectly with Rocco's personality. And apparently, she was a model too.

"Goddamn! Did Santa throw up in here?" Rocco asked.

"It's Damien's fault. He gave me his credit card." I said.

Rocco picked up a box and looked at it. "Holy! Damien's gonna have a heart attack once he sees his bank account."

"Rocco! Is the door open!" I heard Damien shout from outside the apartment.

"It's not done yet! Stall him!" I whisper shouted to Rocco. He quickly walked out the door.

"Damien. UH. You can't be here." Rocco flailed his arms in the air so Damien wouldn't see.

"What do you mean I can't be here? This is MY apartment." Damien argued back.

"Uh. We need..." Rocco looked back at the kitchen, scratching the back of his neck. "Plums. Yes! We need plums! You should go to the store. Right now!"

"Plums? I've never bought plums before." Damien said.

"Exactly! Which is why you should get some." Rocco awkwardly laughed.

"Rocco. I've never seen you eat a plum before. I don't think you even knew what a plum looks like."

"Don't be selfish, Damien. I just want to try something new." Rocco explained.

"Get out of my way." Damien pushed his friend aside and walked forward.

Rocco looked at me with a guilty look.

My boyfriend walked in through the front door, carrying shopping bags. He placed the bags down and looked around the room for a few seconds. "How much did- Nevermind. I'm not going to say anything."

"Good." I smiled and walked over to him.

"Look." Damien pulled something from his pocket. "We're under the mistletoe. You know what that means."

I shook my head. "No clue. Maybe you should tell me."

He smirked. "I think I'll show you instead." He leaned down to kiss me, and I put my hands on his chest. Our lips moved graciously against each other, but we didn't go too far because we weren't alone.

"Ew. Gross." Rocco complained.

I pulled away from Damien and he turned to his best friend. "Don't act like I didn't catch you and your girlfriend practically eating each other's faces off the other day in your apartment."
