It was 6 pm, Friday night. Violet was helping me get ready for my date with Damien. He said to 'dress nice, but you can even pull off a trash bag, so don't stress.'

Violet was doing my makeup right now. After a 5 minutes argument where I wanted a really natural look but Violet said I should go all out, we finally decided on a light face with nude lipstick, but an almost smokey eye.

"Viola." She stepped back, capping the lipstick, and revealing the mirror.

"Wow." I breathed out. "I-I look-"

"Beautiful." Violet stood behind me. "Damien will love it. I mean he will love you with or without makeup. Because you're so pretty. You don't need makeup. But, I mean he will-"

"Thank you, Violet." I laughed and turned to face her. I stood up and wrapped my hands around her. "Thank you so much."

"I gotchu, Naya." She pulled away from me. "Now let's do your hair. I was thinking we could just straighten it and you could wear it down, but you could wear big earrings."

After about 20 minutes, my hair and makeup were all done. I walked into her closet to put on the dress we had bought the other day at the mall. It was an apricot-colored, strappy dress with a scoop neck. I kept it in Violet's room so Damien wouldn't see it.

I walked out and rubbed my palms down to straighten it.

"OH MY FUCKING GOSH! You look so HOT! Can I steal you from my brother?" Violet exclaimed.

I laughed and put on the jewelry and took one final look in the mirror. "Do you think he'll like it? What if it's too much? Or what if it's not enough?"

Violet put her hands on my shoulder. "Naya. You guys have been officially dating for like more than 2 months now. But we all know you guys have had feelings for each other for much longer before that. He loves you, you love him. Stop worrying."

I took a deep breath. "Ok."

Violet walked out of the room. "Damien? Where are you?"

"I'm in the living room." I heard him yell out.

Violet came back in. "Ok. Come on. Come on." She gestured to me to walk out.

Why am I so nervous? I guess cause we've never been out on such an official, fancy date. Wait, did I put on deodorant? I did, I did. Phew.

I walked into the living room and saw Damien standing there. He was dressed in an all-black outfit, consisting of a button-down and formal pants.

I can't believe he's mine.

Damien looked me up and down a few times, and finally, his gaze met mine. He grinned at me. "Belle." He walked up to me and took my hand. "Spin for me." I spun and stopped to look at him, a blush forming over my cheeks. "You look stunning."

"You look very handsome yourself." I laughed and put my arm on his chest.

He grabbed my waist and placed a light kiss on my lips, careful not to mess up my makeup.

He pulled away. "I don't know if I want to go out anymore."

"What? Why?" I asked.

"I don't want other guys looking at you like this."

I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Let's go." I took his hand and dragged him towards the front door.

We walked towards the car, but Damien stopped me before I could open the passenger side door.

He opened the door and stood behind it. "Here you go, darling."

I walked to the door and before sitting down, I kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you, my love."
