• Kind of obvious but Kakashi is going to be a nervous wreck from the time you leave to the time you get back • It's not that he doesn't trust you - these are dangerous missions and anything could go wrong • It took him so long to open up to someone again • And the thought of losing you after giving you his whole heart scares him to bits • Of course, he doesn't say this out loud but there's no reason to • You know about his past and why he worries so you understand • And if you're being honest with yourself you love how touchy he gets the nights before you're about to leave • Always whispering how much he loves you and how much you mean to him • How soft he touches are when he hugs you • It gets to a point where you have to promise to come back to him • Poor guy has been through so much pain - you didn't want to add on to it if you could help it • If there's ever a time you get injured, Kakashi is immediately at your side • Holds your hand as your body heals • Eventually falls asleep with his head resting on the cot • When you finally wake up, Kakashi is on the verge of tears • He was so scared of losing you but he's overwhelmed with happiness that you're okay • When you return from mission unscathed, the first thing you do after turning in a mission report is going to see Kakashi • You don't have to wait very long after knocking, silver hair being all you can make out before he gathers you in his arms • You melt into his touch, the stress finally leaving you as you held him • When you try to get up and take a shower he's hesitant • Begs for you to give him a few more minutes with a soft whisper to let him hold you a little longer
