Neji wasn't usually a light sleeper. Still, he was surprised to hear you talking and whining behind him in your sleep. A tiny smile forced its way into his lips when he heard his name, thinking nothing of it and returning to his relaxed position. He just was about to fall back asleep when you sat up straight, body shaking.
Neji was quick to sit up behind you, hand gently resting on the small of your back. Slowly feeling you ease into his touch, Neji wrapped his muscular arms around you.
"Hey, it's okay. I got you. Just relax, [Y/N], I'm right here."
Tears rolled down your cheeks, leaning your head against his chest. He kissed the top of your head, slowly rocking your bodies as he shushed you.
"We can talk about it if you want too, if not, that's okay as well. Whatever you want."
"Can we cuddle? I don't really want to talk right now." Your voice was barely above a whisper. Neji hated seeing you so upset but still respected your wishes. He settled against the pillows, resting your body against his own.
"Whenever you're ready, my love, I'm right here."
You quietly thanked him, falling asleep against him; nightmares kept at bay.

Iruka groaned into the pillow, annoyed his sleep was disturbed. He wanted to throw the pillow over his head, ignore everything, until he heard you quietly call out his name. Your voice wavered and it sounded like you were on the verge of crying.
Slowly sitting up, Iruka wiped the sleep from his eyes before turning his attention to you. His features softened when he saw your saddened expression, tears threatening to spill over. Your voice cracked as you spoke his name, arms wrapping around him as you sobbed into his neck.
"Baby, shh, I can't understand you. Sit up and we can talk, okay?"
You sniffled, forcing yourself to let go of him. He kept a comforting hand on you as you spoke, telling him the horrible things you saw in your dreams. He kissed your forehead when you were finished, a hand coming up to wipe your tears away.
"That sounds horrible, but remember, it's just a dream. None of that happened, you and I are okay. You're safe, and I'm not going anywhere."
He hugged you once more, laying you down beside him, "You sleep right here beside me, I'll keep you safe. Promise."
