AN: We're going to have a lot of POV swaps here - but they're quick! 😛

- Izaya -

Izaya Orihara sat in his dark room at the hotel across from the one hosting all the festivities. He hummed to himself, binoculars in hand, while he watched everyone from the party through his window.

It felt so very old school, mystery-thriller to creep on people like this. He chuckled to himself. The shooter he planted aimed for (Y/N) first. Making his mark.

"What a shot," Izaya praised, "You even went for the best friend too. How cruel."

That settled it. The next phase to his fun could begin. Izaya pulled out one of his phones, but earned a disapproving sigh from elsewhere in the room.

"Why did I have to be here for this..."

Namie, his assistant, or forever indebted pawn, sat fuming in the corner with her laptop. Izaya spun around with an almost child-like excitement.

"I didn't want to enjoy this all by myself!" He said, "I need an audience member to bask in the chaos with."

"You're a lunatic," she scoffed.

"Not anymore loony than all these people!" He threw his arms out, "Look at them, some of the most powerful humans in Japan and they're still scrambling... What we need are more people with actual talent, not just fancy quirks."

"... is this why you're helping that Yakuza kid?"

"I'm all about giving everyone a fair chance! We'll just send a mass text out to all my contacts and see what they decide to do with (Y/N)."

Namie frowned, "Why are you picking on this girl, anyway? What'd she do to you?"

"Nothing."

"Nothing?"

"Nothing! Which is exactly the problem," Izaya explained, "She's the Queen piece on my chessboard and she has done nothing interesting in so long - I've grown bored. Now, she's getting punished."

Namie kept silent for a moment, mulling over what he said, but shook her head and chalked it up to nonsense, "Won't Chisaki be upset?"

"I paid for his prototypes! He can't be too mad."

Izaya swooned and leaned against the glass window. Who would act first, he wondered, one of her boyfriends? But which one? The killer or the traitor?

"My Queen performs best when forced into a corner," Izaya said, "I'm excited to see what she makes of my little game. Without a quirk I'm afraid! And if she dies, that'll be a let down."

"I really don't understand you," Namie said.

Izaya opened all three of his phones, and one by one, his list of clients all received the same message.

"Hmm," Izaya tapped his chin, "What should the reward be, Namie?"

"I thought you were just doing this to torture her..." Namie gave up and closed her laptop.
