"I've sealed off the exits..." Overhaul glowered in both your direction, "You won't be able to run away using permeation, Lemillion, not while taking Eri or (Y/N) with you. So, what'll it be - a fight to the death?"

"Yep," you answered for him.

"Hate me that much, huh?" He sneered, "After all we've shared together, (Y/N)."

This was probably the first time you actually growled, and you reminded yourself of Bakugo, "Gods, you're disgusting!"

"You've only made this worse for yourself," Kai continued to stare all three of you down, "We'll have to start all over... this time, I'll make sure there's no room for you to doubt me."

"You're wrong, Chisaki," Mirio's voice trembled slightly, but he didn't look afraid. Pissed, would be a better word. "After today, you'll never touch them again."

Kai scoffed, "Do you have a list of repeated phrases heroes are supposed to say? What I do with my wife is my business."

"He's a deadman," you charged forward and only stopped because Mirio took your hand.

"Look," Kai said, "You might've been able to heal yourself this time, but that won't last forever, not unless you drain your hero friend as well. What if Eri gets hurt? In these conditions, I'm the only one who can heal you. And if hero-boy insists on keeping you from me, that's exactly what'll happen."

"You really are a monster," Mirio said, "Forcing love on someone is cruel enough, but then to threaten and torture your own daughter?"

"Huh? Oh yeah," Kai laughed, "I don't have any children. But I'm sure that pulled at your heartstrings."

"Yeah... don't know what this is about," you muttered, while Mirio continued to build his rage. "But I'm ready to deal with this piece of shit."

You could not imagine Mirio joining you in fowl language, but he didn't protest and nodded in agreement.

"(Y/N)... promise me, no matter what, you Eri will escape," Mirio said.

You could only give him a silent stare. The two of you wanted the same thing, except for the other to make it out of this alive. Overhaul would probably destroy your body in more ways than you wanted to imagine, but he wasn't going to let you die.

Even then, even if you escaped this demon, you were far from out of hell, what with the dark path you chose for yourself. This was about Eri, and about Mirio, and you wanted to see them leave this awful place for good.

"Have it your way," Kai said.

For once in a long while, you were seeing the end of the dark tunnel, and the light of hope was Mirio.

He fought brilliantly. While you would have enjoyed giving Kai more punches of your own, it was hard not to watch Mirio wipe the floor with him. Eri was in and out of his arms at the same time, a further testament to his skill. Kai knew he was outmatched too, you could see his desperation growing with every frantic movement he made to kill him.

You were panting from all the jumping and diving away from his relentless spikes emerging from the floor. It looked like Kai was on his last legs, when he suddenly reached into his pocket for something.

"Shoot him!" He shouted and tossed the bullet case towards someone.

Kurono was out, so who were you missing?!

The case landed in front of a sad, crumpled looking Nemoto. It seemed he barely made it during Kai's total reconstruction of the room. The man took one of the bullets with trembling fingers and loaded his gun.
