S4 Part 46 - Hangry Bird

Mirio recollected you after your performance, and you had to say goodbye to your friends at UA. It was hard leaving. Despite kissing Monoma, sort of, today was really fun.

You were at least able to stay a while. Watching your class perform together, singing, dancing, and making everyone excited, made you miss their company even more than before. You wanted to see Denki up there with them too... he liked music.

You got to hang out with a few classmates before it got too late. Mina invited you to sleepover but you explained you had work to do, which was true. But you text her and a couple others on the drive home. The hardest one to message... Bakugo.

You: Katsuki

Bakugo: Princess

You: (...)

Bakugo: OMG SPIT IT OUT.

Bakugo: Please.

You: Sorry!! Do you want to do dinner this week..?

You felt like such a novice at this. Usually, you were the one getting asked to hang out. The only one you felt comfortable throwing plans at was Shinso, before... yeah, before.

Bakugo: Bout freaking time. What the hell took you so long?

You: Well geez! Eat by yourself then -

His text was faster.

Bakugo: I'll pick you up. Tomorrow. Endeavor's making us take a few nights off for the stupid hero conference and the damn fight you dragged us into.

Wow, charming as always...

You: Alright...

Bakugo: (...)

Now who's taking ages to text, you thought and went back to texting Mina. You had a plan, and it was probably insane, but after seeing Mina dance and Jiro sing, you were going to need their help. If you had the balls to pull it off, that is.

"I'm really glad we went," Mirio said suddenly, "Thanks for calling me."

You dropped your phone in your lap, "I'm so sorry! I'm being so rude! My head is back on campus..."

"Don't worry! Your phone's been going crazy since we left, they must really care about you."

"Or they're stalkers," you grinned, "Thank you for taking me. I'm sorry I ditched you for the last half."

"Eri kept me company! She was so happy today, huh? And anyway, I kind of wanted to go to UA for you," he said, "Do you feel better after seeing everyone?"

"I do. You're really sweet Mirio."

He pulled up in front of Hawks' agency. You hadn't been there for long but it strangely felt like home, just like your dorms used to.

"I hope not too sweet!" Mirio chuckled, "I know girls can get turned off by that sorta thing."

"What? How?" You asked, "Just keep being yourself. I like it."

"Yeah?"

He leaned across to your side of the car and kissed your cheek. You made a tiny "squeeee" out of surprise. Mirio's chipper expression broke into all out laughter, "Haha! I'm sorry! It was too tempting."

You pressed your palms against your cheeks, "It's fine! I don't know how I can be this shy still."

"Would you ever let me treat you to a more romantic date?" He asked, "I love doing this too, I'm just putting some feelers out there."
