"We're here to help!" Izuku shouted.

His body glowed, prepping his own powerful moves. The ice prison didn't hold. Butcher was freed and unleashing more and more energy. Bakugo and Shoto both staggered back while you and Hawks fought to push forward in the air against the waves.

Endeavor was already sparring with Butcher - if you could call it that. He could only land blows that were made of only fire, but if he got too close, Butcher bested him in strength every time.

"I wouldn't have brought my trainees if I knew what the occasion called for!" Endeavor roared, still upset with Hawks.

"DON'T UNDERESTIMATE ME!" Bakugo barked.

Butcher grabbed hold of Endeavor's wide frame with one of his hands and used him to punch a hole through the building he damaged. The tower groaned and slowly caved forward, and when Shoto tried to stop it with another ice wall, he became Butcher's next target. He crushed him beneath his father to make a Todoroki sandwich in the pavement.

You gasped. Izuku shouted to his icy-hot classmate and quickly intervened while Bakugo made for Butcher on his own. The pedestrians were far enough away, thanks to a few of Hawk's feathers dragging them off, but anyone still in the building was in trouble.

"Hate to ask," Hawks swooped in next to your "But mind if I hitch a ride this time?"

You didn't know what he meant by that but figured he had a plan and nodded. He held onto you while disposing of most of his wings. The red feathers darted into the building through various windows. When they returned, people in business clothes came flying out as well, flailing about and clearly unsure of how they were flying in the first place.

That is... amazing! He just saved so many people with those little feathers, and made himself temporarily vulnerable. Hawks didn't hesitate even for a second.

The building continued its descent. Hawks dropped off the rescued and reattached his feathers as fast as he could, relieving you of him. "Thanks, kid!"

As soon as he was back to flying on his own, you dove down to try slowing the building's fall.

"Wait, (Y/N)!" Izuku cried.

You knew it was too big of an obstacle to carry, too. Thinking on your toes (still in the air...) you attacked it instead. The impact gave it the nudge it needed to avoid knocking into anything else. When it did crash, the street caved in under the weight and a great wall of dust blinded your vision.

The taste of dirt was thick on your tongue. Something sharp, like a sheet of metal, blew into your side and sliced you open. You crashed to ground level and waited behind a turned-over car while more debris swept by. Warm blood pooled next to you, and while you took several strained breaths, you focused all your energy to stitching yourself back together.

At this rate, you would lose all the energy you stored and it would have been a waste. All you needed was to shoot him - once! You grit your teeth and when your body felt right again, you stepped out from your hiding spot.

Sorry about the dress, Hebira...

The building was open to you like it had formed a gaping mouth after hitting the earth. Its dark depths promised a final battle. If Butcher could hold his own against the number one hero even while dying, you were all in trouble. You couldn't hear or see anyone else, but you were also laser-focused on the new figure climbing through the rubble.

You had to blink dust from your eyes, and temporarily lost your breath...

Hawks couldn't focus on one sound at the moment. His feathers were picking up noises from everywhere, but it was difficult to see what was happening below him. What he wanted to hear was you. Were you okay? What about Endeavor and his students? He wouldn't have thrown them into such danger, but he knew they were capable. And he knew that they could eventually help bring you back.
