"Well lookie who we have here, this is your caption speakin we have a safety meeting attendance mandatory" John B says acting likes he's on a walkey talkey. "don't get on the boat boy!" Heyward yells. Lee had been to Popes house a few times and when she had heyward loved her. "pssshh your dads a pussy over" JJ continues with the walky talky thing.
"Cut it out!" Lee hissed slapping JJs arm. "Lydia! How ya been?" Heyward smiles. "Good! How about you?" She asks while motioning for Pope to jump on the boat. The dark skinned boy jumps on the boat and Heyward starts his normal yelling.
"Love ya pops!" John B chuckles as the drive off.
The kids where at school, dad was at work, things where all good. Lee's phone starts to buzz. Dad. Fucking greats. "Everyone shut up it's my dad" Lee groans while pressing the phone to her ear. "Hey dad what's up?" Lydia says in a fake happy tone that always makes her cringe.
"Why aren't you home?" she dad growls. Lyd gulps, how could she tell him she was out with friends not doing school. "I'm going to the store I needed umm... girl stuff" she says speeding through the sentence. "Oh uh alright get home soon I'm gonna need help with the kids" he blabs drunkly.
Lee agrees before hanging up the phone. "I kinda need a ride home" Lydia mumbles whole fiddling with her fingers. She hated asking for stuff from other people. "I'll take ya home" John B smiles. JJ makes a face making Lee giggle. She sits down on the boys lap "you're still #1 Jay" she whispers to him.
When they get back to the cheatu Lee hops in the twinkie. John B smiles, he definitely didn't have a crush on the girl but he enjoyed her company.
"You like JJ" he chuckles. Lydia opens her mouth to shut him up "hey, that boy is head over heels for you, that's never happened. He's constantly talking about you. Why don't you give him a shot?" the brunette says. JJ must've said something but no one would admit it.
"He's my best friend John B. I don't want to ruin our friendship. Besides, my dad would kill me" Lydia scratches her head. "he loves you" JB blurts.
Lee cocks an eyebrow "he said that?"

That same knot forms in her stomach, she wouldn't even admit to herself that she loves JJ. "Can you keep a secret?" She mumbles. "Ya" he smiles. "My ex... Alex. Cheated on me for months then told me he didn't love me anyways. I don't think JJ would ever do that but I'm not risking putting myself through that again" she spits.
"JJ wouldn't-"
"I know JJ wouldn't! I know he loves me! And- and I love him to but it's not gonna happen John! Not now at least..." Lydia says "not yet..."
"I'm not gonna tell anyone Lee. If you don't wanna date JJ you don't have to" he reassures her. Lee smiles as they pull into her driveway and she hops out of the car. "Bye John B!"
"Bye!"
Lee goes inside her head spinning. JJ Maybank.... THE JJ MAYBANK, likes... her? No! It couldn't be.
