20. Bad things have good outcomes

9 months later

There was no doubt that Raes a daddy's girl. She can crawl now she she follows him around everywhere and screams when she's not getting any attention. Raelyn is also the definition of sassy. Her cancer made her a little weaker than other babies but other than that she was a normal kid.

Lee gets woken up by little hands grabbing at her face and a mans laughter. She groans when she sees JJ laying down acting like nothing happened "hi baby" Lydia coos at the child. "can I have kisses?"

Rae leans down and kisses her while doing her cute little baby giggle. "heyyy I was Rae Rae kisses!" JJ whines as the baby makes her way to him and kisses him as well. "thank you my love" he smiles while pulling her into his arms.

She laughs while trying to escape his grip. "you better let her go before the sass comes out" Lee smiles as she watches Rae tumble out of JJs grip still laughing.

"do you love your daddy?" Lee smiles as Rae crunches her nose in response. The little girl cuddles into Lee's arms "I love you baby" she whispers while kissing Raes cheek.

JJ watches as they both fall asleep together, the 2 girls he loves with his whole heart. He stands up running his fingers through his hair with a sigh before going outside.

He walks outside to find John B and Sarah making out on the porch "get a room my god. Do you guys just eat each other's faces all day?" JJ groans while sitting down on a chair and pulling out a blunt.

Sarah pulls out of John Bs grip and picking the blunt out of JJs hand "you said you quit?" she asks in a confused tone. JJ did quit but lately the thought of how sick Raelyn is was getting to him. He was aware the likely hood of it killing her was slim... but still there.

"he's just pissed cause he doesn't get enough sex"

"I get plenty of sex bird shit"

"Oh ya? When's the last time you and Lee fucked?"

JJ hated John Bs nosy ass questions but he genuinely didn't have an answer for this. He sits there in thought for a second "I don't know" he sarcastically smiles before hearing a babies cries from the other room.

"I'll go get her!" Sarah smiles, let's just say the kook princess loves Rae. Within 30 seconds Sarah comes back with Raelyn. "she wants her father" the blonde says while passing her to JJ.

"you tried princess?" JJ softly says while rubbing her back as Rae wrest her head on JJ. "is Lee still sleeping?" he questions "ya she didn't wake up"

It was weird to think only 18 months ago Lee was telling JJ she was pregnant. To be honest he didn't know if he wanted to stick around but he's happy as hell that he did. Raelyn was genetically Rafes kid but no one ever talked about the events of that party.

That was one of the hardest nights of Lee's life, but like JJ to once said "bad things have good outcomes all the time"

A few hours later JJ finds him self on the beach with Raelyn, he let her sit on the edge of the water and splash around while he sat next to her. He lays on his back looking up at the sun and listening to the waves crash down onto shore.

"You're not going to remember or understand any of this because you're a baby but... you're my best friend Rae Rae. I know these next few months are gonna be hard but I believe in you" he smiles looking over at the little girl who's paying not attention. JJ laughs to himself at how dumb he sounded.

"heyyy maybank I always knew you'd find friends" he hears a dark chuckle from behind him
