11. 3 Squeezes

"H-hospital"

JJ nods and picks her up. He carries her through the party despite peoples whispers and weird looks he doesn't care. All her cares about was Lee and that she was safe. He puts her down in the passenger seat of his truck and she buckles in. Lydia was never a "baby" she always took care of herself and hated help but right now she was happy that JJ was there.

"here" he smiles giving her a blanket from the trunk. Lydia takes it as JJ starts driving away. They arrive at the hospital "you ready?" he asks "I- I think so"

JJ helps Lee out of the car and they walk inside "how can we help you?" A nurse asks. Lee looks up at JJ as tears form in her eyes "she was raped" he says. "ok come with me sweetheart, your boyfriend can stay here"

"No! N-no he has to come I'm not going to g-go without him" Lee starts in a panic while clinging onto JJ. 'she didn't deny me being her boyfriend? Wow' he thinks to himself before realizing what's happening. "I'm not going to be in the way I promise" he says.

"I'm sorry we can't let you-"

"He can come" another doctor said "I got this"

Lee smiles while loosening her grip to JJs arms as they walk into a room. "ok we're going to explain what we're going to do. We're going to collect his DNA but if you wanna stop at any time we will and we can't do anything if you don't say yes so before we do anything just say 'yes' or 'no' ok?"

"y-ya"

"your going to have to remove your clothes for parts of this are you comfortable with him being here?" they ask. Lydia looks up at JJ not really knowing what to do. "I'll leave if you want" he smiles while pushing hair out of her face. JJs her best friend and as awkward as it might be she does want him to stay.

"he can stay"

Everyone nods while putting on gloves and taking out swabs. They start the long process of collecting Rafes DNA. Swab after swab over her whole body, JJ squeezes her hand 3 times indicating 'I love you'. It was something she had told him when they had met. Lee smiles through the tears and squeezes his hand back 3 times.

'I love you'

Doctors poke and prod at her bruises. After what felt like forever they where finally done. They clear her from the hospital and they go out to the car. At that point it's almost 2 am "I'm so proud of you" he whispers while hugging her in the parking lot. "Did you mean it?"

"mean what?"

"that you love me?"

JJ looks at her dumbfounded. Of course he loved her! "yes I love you! I love you more than you'll ever know. Did you mean it when you said it back?" He chuckles. "yes JJ, I love you" she smiles back.

Love... that was it. He knew it, she knew it. They loved each other.

But when would Lee come to accept it? And when would it stop scaring her?....
