2 hours later...

"They said it'd be over by now, what if something happened? What if there was a complication? What if she didn't ma-"

"Lee I'm sure she's ok"

Lydia presses her head into JJs shoulder. Lydia has been a worried mess the whole time but Jj on the other hand? Of course he's worried but he's still trying to process he has a whole as child. A tiny human that he can boss around.

*knock knock knock*

"Come in!" JJ hollers as a nurse walks in with the small baby on one of those "cart beds" as JJ called them with an oxygen tube in her nose and IV fluids.
"the surgery went well but the tumor was deeper than we thought so we couldn't get it all." her surgeon explains "she's going to be ok but we're sending the tumor up for testing to see if it's cancer" they add before walking away.

JJ and Lee both sit up and go over to the bed. Tears fill up Lee's eyes as she sees Raes lifeless looking body. JJ puts his finger into her little hand as tears also gather on his eyes. "what did she do to deserve this...." JJ whispers while stroking her hair.

He couldn't believe how much of an impact this small child already had on him even tho she's a day old. I mean in his mind she was already stronger then him. A tear slips out of JJs eye. Lee puts her head on JJs shoulder and rubs his back, she knew this was just as hard for him even if he wasn't showing emotion.

"you're a great dad JJ" Lee whispers while softly kissing his shoulder. "they said we can go home tomorrow as long as nothing happens tonight" she adds.

JJ looks down at Lee "I love you so much" he smiles while pressing his lips to hers. He hated all the mushy stuff but right now he didn't care, he wanted her to know that he loved her.

"I love you to Maybank"

The next day

To home they go, with a baby. "you look to cute" Lee smiles while carefully putting Rae in the in the car seat and buckling her in. JJ smiles and hugs Lee from behind to give her a kiss on the neck. "are my girls ready to go home?" he asks.

One thing about JJ, he HATED hospitals. "is my boy ready to go home?" she mocks him "I'm a man"

"ya whatever you say"

JJ groans as he picks up the car seat and they make their way to the car. He puts her car seat in and they start the drive home. Raelyn cries... a lot, but it just adds on to the wonders of parent hood I guess.

When the arrive at the cheatu with a warm welcome from the pogues. "Guys go to your room we have a surprise for you!" Kie happily implys.

Lee looks at JJ with a shrug before following her in. They set up a rocking chair next to the crib which would probably be the most convenient thing in their lives.

"thank you guys" Lee smiles while giving them all hugs as JJ does the same. JJ takes Rae out carefully trying not to touch her incision. "hi baby" he smiles while kissing her cheek. "I love you" JJ continues.

"Daddy!" John B laughs while slapping JJs ass "tell that to my daddy kink!" he shouts in reply earning a slap on the arm from Lee.

"JJ shut up"

Everyone laughs, everything felt ok again, but in Lee's limited experience she knew this feeling all to well. Nothing ever stays ok.
