34. Rainbow Baby

"Mmm fuck!"

JJ rushes into the kitchen when he hears her yell. "What- whats wrong? are you ok?" he panics.

"ya i'm fine i just pissed myself again"

A laugh escapes JJs lips before noticing Lee hunched over in pain. "nope I think my water broke" she huffs in pain, clinging to the counter. JJ props her up with his arms.

"go time?"

"go time."

Before they know it they're in the car timing contractions and hoping they don't get pulled over for speeding. The blonde rubs circles on Lydias back and whispers soothing words. "we're almost there, it'll be ok" he coos to her.

Cleaning out Raes room was really hard. John B, Sarah, Kie and Pope helped a lot. After 9 months of tears and hormones she was finally in labor.

Once they get to the hospital and get escorted to their room. "ow fuck!" she groans in pain. JJ holds her hand trying to ignore that his fingers are becoming purple because of how hard she's squeezing it.

"sh sh sh shhhhh just breath baby it'll be so worth it in the end"

One after the other over many hours a bunch of different doctors pump her up with meds and seeing how much she's dilated.

When the meds finally kicked in it was like heaven. "I can't feel my legs but I feel so much better" she laughs softly while letting go of JJs hand for the first time in hours.

"you ready to have this baby?" JJ kisses her cheek.

"as Ill ever be"

A few hours later the doctor says she can finally push. JJ sits behind her with her in between his legs. "nope! I cant- I cant do it!" she screams in pain. "it's almost over bubba you're doing great" JJ whispers into her ear.

With one more scream of pain a baby's cries fill the air. "good job you did it mamas" JJ says while climbing down from his spot.

"wanna cut the cord Mr Maybank?" the doctor asks. As weird as JJ thought it was he agreed.

"here is your baby girl" they smile handing the small baby to Lydia. Tears flow down her face as she kisses the top of the baby's head, not caring that she was still disgusting.

JJ sits next to Lee, pushing the hair out of her face. He couldn't believe it, baby number 2.

"what's the name guys?" the nurse asks.

Lydia and JJ had talked about some names, but they didn't know the gender of the child so it wasn't fully decided. "give us sometime" JJ sighs.

A little while later once the babies cleaned off JJ pics her up. "Hi my love" he coos at the bright blue eyed baby.

"Iris"

"huh?"

"Iris, I think we should name her Iris. It means rainbow and she's a rainbow baby"

It was settled long ago that the babies middle name would be Rae.

"Iris Rae Maybank" JJ smiles while looking down at her. "it fits" he continues.

And so it was settled. Honestly they where both terrified that something would happen to her. they couldn't lose another one of their babies. It was definitely weird having a new born again.

Iris is the spitting image of JJ with her blonde hair and blue eyes.

Maybe everything would be ok?
