24. Siblings

They'd been doing whatever they could with the little money they had. Spending times with the pogues was there favorite pass time. Everyone was pretty sure Sarah and Rae where the best friends anyone could have and John B was definitely one of her favorite people.

Raelyn always cried when they had to go back to Lee and JJs apartment they'd been renting.

It's been about 2 months since to news and her heath was declining. She slept a lot and when she was awake she was tired or sick, Rae also got to sleep in Lee and JJs bed. "daddy I don't feel good" she whines while cuddling up into him.

"I know princess" he whispers while kissing the top of her head. It'd been really hard for JJ and Lee, they had to finally talk about her funeral and all that stuff.

A knock at the door fills JJs ears and he stands up "i'll be right back" he tells her while walking away. He swings open the door to see 2 familiar faces.

"surprise?"

JJ stands there in shock. Sofia and Finn, Lee's siblings. They'd seen them since everything happened but not many times because the systems fucked. Lee had always kept in touch tho and they'd met Rae.

Fia was 11 now and Finn was 18.

"oh shit- um come in!" he smiles as they walk in and pull him into a hug. "I missed you JJ" Sofia giggles while hugging him. "I missed you to Fia"

Finn smiles while watching them together. "where's my niece?" he asks. "she's in our room, she's really tired and doesn't feel good so just keep it down. And Lee should be back soon she just went to the store"

He walks them down to there room where Raelyn lays while watching cartoons. "Finn and Fia are here" he tells her and the little girl sits up.

"hiya kiddo" Finn chuckles while sitting next to her and pulling her into a hug "I missed you you're so big!"

Rae hugs him back without saying anything. Raelyn was shy with some people but when she wasn't she ummm- wasn't. In a shaky tired voice she whispers "hi"

Finn looks up at JJ with teary eyes, he didn't realize how weak she really was. JJ softly smiles back before Rae reaches for him. He picks her up and rubs her back "your alright Rae Rae" he coos quietly.

"I'm home!" they all hear Lee yell from the living room. Fias face lights up and she goes running with Finn following behind. JJ and Raelyn listen to the happinesses in Lees voice, it was definitely the happiest she'd been in months.

Lydia hugs her siblings giving each of them a kiss on the head. Finn and Sofia where her whole world up until Rae was born, she felt kinda bad leaving them out but was more than happy to see them again.

In the other room JJ rocks back and fourth in a rocking chair with the young girl in his arms. "daddy I don't feel good" she whispers while a tear rolls down her cheek. JJ wipes it away and rubs his thumb back and fourth on her cheek.

At this point he didn't know what to say, he didn't wanna lie to her but you can't tell a 5 year old that she's slowly dying. "I love you ok? I'll always be right here no matter what. I'm never leaving you" he quietly tells her while choking back his own tears.

Rae was in a lot of pain and there was nothing he could do, and it was the worst feeling in the whole wide world.

"I love you to..." she whispers in pain while squeezing his finger as tight as she could. After a couple minutes of JJ whispering old stories and dumb no nothings she finally falls asleep once again. He carefully puts her in bed, tucking her in and going to the living room.

"is she asleep?" Lee asks. "ya" he says while rubbing his eyes and running his hands through his long blonde hair. Lydia pulls him onto the couch to sit next to her. Everyone talks for a bit, about the pogues, old stories and a bunch of BS for a while before Finn and Fia leave.

"mommy!" they hear a little voice yell from the other room. Lydia stands up and goes to the bedroom. "hi my love" she smiles. Rae leans over the edge of the bed and pukes.

"JJ!" Lee shouts while grabbing a tissue and wiping her face as JJ comes running in. Tonight was probably gonna be another long ass night....
