5. Butterflies

2 months later

Sofia had finally started school and Finn was in middle school which meant Lee was home alone all day. After getting the kids on the bus she rushes inside to do her school and Kie had come over. "You like JJ" she blurts. Lee scrunch's her nose looking back from her school "no" she giggles "JJs my best friend nothing more" she adds.

"Well if you don't like him then someone's gonna have to break it to him" Kiara laughs "he's all 'and Lee's the prettiest girl ever and I like her a lot Jonh B'" Kie jokes mocking JJs voice. "Woah wait- he said that!?" Lee spats surprised at his behavior.

"Who said what?" a males voice says as the door opens to reveal Pope and John B. "Jesus Christ you guys just break and enter" Lydia laughs at Pope. Her and Pope had actually become quite close as they've been hanging out a lot. "JJs in the car ruining his lunges he'll be in here in a second" Pope shrugs.

Lee groans standing up and going outside, she'd made it her job to make sure JJ doesn't smoke as much. "Lee!" he smiles in a happy tone excited to see his friend. She picks the blunt out of his hand and puts it out "stop wrecking your lunges I don't want you dead at 30" she scoffs slapping his bicep. "Mm love you to" he jokes in reply getting out of the car and throwing his arms around her. "Get off me" she laughs.

"You know you love me"

"Cut it out!" she giggles.

Her dad hadn't been home for a few days so she was comfortable letting them all in. JJ and Lee walk into her room and flop on the bed. Lee has her back up against the backboard with JJs head in her lap playing with his hair.

Ever since the night Lydias dad hurt her bad JJ had made sure to be careful and leave when he was told. "JJs pussy whipped" John B declares to everyone.

"Am not!"

"Mhm" Kie laughs looking at Lee "I'm not apart of his sex life" Lee tells holding her hands up in the air. "Hey don't stop" JJ huffs wanting her to keep playing with his hair. "And also John B is macking Sarah the virgin so I'm not the pussy whipped one."

Everyone just kinda looks around "Sarah Cameron!? As in Kook Princess? And my enemy?" Kie blurts. Her and Sarah where anything but friends but Lee didn't know that. "Whys Sarah your enemy?" Lydia laughs.

Kie immediately starts her 'like a spitting cobra' speech about Sarah. "ooookkkkkk" Lee laughs "I don't wanna be apart of it."

"Me either" JJ jokes.

Everyone hangs out for a bit, I mean they're like family. Pope had been helping Finn with his homework before her dad got home which she deeply appreciated considering she doesn't have excellent grades. Kie was her "sister from another mister" if that's what you wanna call it. John B is like s brother. JJs her best friend, partner in crime, sidekick? Whatever he was she loved him and that's not changing.

Lee wakes up in JJs arms, when had she even fallen asleep? "Hey" JJ coos "how'd ya sleep?" he asks. "hi bub, I slept fine" she smiles looking at the time. JJ got butterflies when she said bub but he would never admit it. "Fuck! Why didn't you wake me up we have to go get the kids!" she panics.

"Relax Lee, FIA FINNN!!!!" JJ tells and they come running in. "voilà" he chuckles.

"Lee look what I got a school today!" Fia runs up to her showing her knee all cut up. "ahhh you're tough, rub some dirt on it" Lydia laughs. JJ smile's ignoring the pit in his stomach. He didn't know why it was there, maybe because he had to leave soon or because he wanted to kiss that girl so bad.

Lydia leans into JJ and Fia crawls onto the bed. "have fun with your boyfriend" Finn laughs before walking away. JJ rolls his eyes with a laugh "come here Fia" Lee smiles opening her arms to her. She lays in between her and JJ. Lydia couldn't help but get butterflies watching her best friend, he was so good with the kids AND had a similar story. What better could she ask for?

"JJ you gotta go" she frowns "I'll see you first thing tomorrow?" Lee says. "First thing tomorrow just as always" he smiles back while putting his shoes on. Lee sits up "bye" she smiles kissing him on the cheek in a friend way... nothing more.

JJs cheeks go red and he holds back his smiles while walking out.

"Bye Lee, bye Fia"
