15. Waiting game

"JJ.....pssttt JJ wake up" Lee frantically whispers. Let's just say.... it's been 9 months. A rough 9 months at that, it's 2am and Lee thinks her water broke. They think the baby has a tumor, and if it isn't removed right away then they'll die. Oh! The babies a girl! They decided the name Raelyn Jay, umm Rae for short. Lee decided because she picked Raelyn JJs name needed to be apart of it.

"JJ wake up!" she squeals in pain at a contraction. "What! what I'm up!" JJ jumps up in surprise. "whats wrong w-why's the bed wet?" his words stumble out of his mouth. "I-I think my water broke"

"JJ feel this" Lee smiles while taking his hand and pressing it to her stomach. "what? Oh- oh!!" JJ smiles as the baby kicks around. "that's so cool oh my god" he chuckles. "you're to cute Jay" Lydia smiles as he bends down and kisses her stomach "I love you" he whispers to the baby. "And I love your momma" he continues while going up to Lee's lips and kisses her.

"I can't wait for her to be born" Lyd smiles. This baby was the only thing keeping them going at this point. "me either"

Present

"should we go to the hospital?" JJ asks as Lee rolls overs giving him a nasty look "what do you think?" she scoffs "sorry um hormones, yes we need to go the the hospital" she quickly apologizes. JJ chuckles a little while helping her out of bed.

"I can still move JJ jesus let me go change" Lydia groans while walking to the bathroom and changing her clothes. A few minutes later JJ put all their stuff in the back of the truck but Lee's still in the bathroom. "Lee you ok in there?" JJ asks from outside the bathroom door.

Lee opens the door "I put on makeup" she smiles "you are something else but we need to go ok? You're in labor" JJ chuckles. Lydia heads out to the car and JJ goes to tell John B.

"pssst John B, we're uhh going to the hospital Lee's in labor" JJ says shaking his best friend awake. "ya ok, wait.... what? She's in labor!" John B sits up in shock. "I- umm congrats? I'll be wishing you luck from my bed" he chuckles. JJ rolls his eyes with a laugh and walks out the door.

'I am having a baby' he thinks 'wait... no? I'm not having the baby Lee's having a baby. My baby! Well it's Rafes baby but umm ya a baby' his thoughts continue. 'And our baby has a tumor... and she's probably gonna die. I should probably stop thinking like that'

"oowwww fuck" Lee groans in pain "I'm so happy you are getting out of me"

JJ watches and Lee shuffles around in her seat trying to stop the contractions even tho she's very aware that she can't. He puts his hand on her thigh and rubs circles "we're almost there bub, just breathe" JJ reassures. After a few minutes they pull into the hospital.

How could 9 months go so fast? 9 months ago her and JJ weren't even dating! And now... now she's having a kid. How does that even happen? Everything is moving at a million miles per hour, it's hella scary.

"hey we're here cmon"

JJ and Lee step out of the car and they walk inside. "hey how can we help you?" A nurse asks "what does it look like is happening? I'm in labor" Lee snaps, god hormones are the worse. "ok let's go get you in a room ok?"

Lydia makes her way to a delivery room and they see how dilated she is. "5 centimeters" the nurse smiles. "jesus that was fast"

"yup you're progressing fast! At this rate she should be here in around 1-2 hours. What's the name I should write down for her?"

"Raelyn Jay Stokes" JJ speaks up "are you stupid? Raelyn Jay Maybank" JJs a dumb one for sure. It was his kid why wouldn't she have his last name?

Waiting for a doctor to say "you can push now" is probably the worst waiting game ever. How the fuck couldn't anyone possibly just sit around there and wait like it's easy, especially when your baby might have a whole ass tumor.
