Lee caught Mikayla up on what exactly is the WWN awards and what she needs to do to support it and get votes. Mikayla has to choose sponsors, charities, decide which songs she'll be performing, where she's going to get her gown from and sit at least one paper media interview by next Sunday. "Why next Sunday?" Mikayla asked genuinely confused on the short timeline she was given, "well the WWN is giving you a radio show for half an hour on Sundays to get the hype up for the awards night. Each nominee will get a equal amount of time on air, it's not special treatment. They've completely overwritten Sundays for WWN awards promo radio shows. You have to chose a presenter to do it with you though."

Mikayla smiled at the fact she wouldn't have to run a radio show solo, she asked Lee if he could do it with her and he said if she wrote to the news station requesting him, possibly, if not she would have a group meeting to get to know all the presenters and choose her favourite. "Even if they do let us work together, I would suggest you work with other presenters as well just to hide the suspicion of our friendship for both of our protections." Mikayla instantly agreed with his suggestion, the last thing she wanted was to put Lee in danger.

After they sorted out business, Lee and Mikayla caught up with each other. They haven't seen each other since mid August and it was October 13th already. Lee told Mikayla how he and Alicia are going strong and in talks about moving in together, and he was absolutely beaming as he spoke about their date last week. Mikayla listened intently glad that even though there's a war going on her friends are still making time for happiness and fun. Mikayla gave Lee some outline of what's been going on with her, skimming over the attempt on her life. She tried to focus on the light but Lee could see right through her, giving her a tight squeeze in parting and whispering to her that he's sorry for her loss.

Mikayla couldn't find any of her friends at the Gryffindor celebration party, which was in full swing when she arrived. Renewed cheers and clapping greeted her presence, and she was soon surrounded by a mob of people congratulating her on the win. She smiled politely while trying to make her way through a crowd of hormonal boys, and some girls, that were professing their undying love for her. She kindly rejected them all, saying that she was in a rather happy relationship and whilst she was extremely flattered by their affection, it was not reciprocated.

"Mikayla!" Ritchie Coote exclaims as he throws an arm around her shoulder leading her away from the crowd. "Thanks, Ritchie. Some people won't take no for an answer." Mikayla huffed the tendrils of her hair that had fallen out of her ponytail, "no problem, it's my job to have your back." Mikayla chuckled at Ritchie's point, "I appreciate it. Have you seen any of my usual crowd?" She asked him in a whispered shout. "Weasley's over there, snogging Brown." Sure enough, there, in full view of the whole room, stood Ron wrapped so closely around Lavender Brown it was hard to tell whose hands were whose. Mikayla grimaced at the sight, and feeling quite bad knowing that he made a big deal of Dean and Ginny snogging in a deserted corridor, when he's doing in front of the whole of Gryffindor Tower.

"Shit, what about Hermione?" Mikayla's eyes scan the floor looking for her best friend, "she's just left, Potter's is gone after her." Mikayla felt a little more relieved that Harry was gone after Hermione, not feeling that she was in the right headspace to comfort her friend over boy trouble. She spotted a rather fuming Ginny near the drinks table, "thanks again for your help Ritchie, I'm going to make sure Ginny doesn't have Ron deballed." Ritchie looked at her confused, before following Mikayla's eye line and agreeing with the statement Mikayla made.

As she was making her way over to Ginny, Mikayla was intercepted by none other than Cormac McLaggen. Mikayla groaned at this, and tried to just push past him, "now, now, Black. I just wanted to talk." Mikayla met his eyes with a sharp glare, which moved to the hand McLaggen placed on her shoulder. Mikayla snatched his wrist lifting his hand off of her, touch me again and I break it. Now, move out of my way before I curse you." McLaggen folded his arms in front of him, to show that he wasn't going to move.

Mikayla raised her right hand, she did a particular movement whilst saying, "Calvorio" and McLaggen's hair started to fall out. She hit him with a Jelly-legs curse and a tongue-tying curse instantly, before making her way around him to catch Ginny. "Ron is hypocritical prat, and I'll get him back for how he reacted to Dean and I snogging but right now I just want to enjoy the party." Mikayla nodded understanding what Ginny was saying, "fair enough, I'll leave you be. If any of the others are looking for me, I'm going to my dorm." Ginny nodded smiling at her sympathetically, which Mikayla ignores and just smiles back before disappearing upstairs.

Mikayla spent the rest of the night alone in her dorm, she wrote a multitude of letters to send off to potential sponsors, charities, and interviews. Mikayla decided to have a theme for her charities: Magical Creatures. She decided to co-found one of her own.

The Avery Carra Foundation, a organisation that encourages young girls to become Dragonologists or to volunteer at the Dragon Reserve Centres worldwide. She wrote a letter pitching the idea to Ron Ryan and Charlie, explaining why she wanted to set up the organisation (In Avery's memory as Avery wanted to become a Dragonologist), how she would be more than happy to provide funds to the organisation to get it started up, and that she would like Ryan and Charlie to be co-founders with her.

Mikayla also wanted to campaign for SPEW, so she wrote a letter to the Minister of Magic and Gethsemane Prickle aka the Head of the Department of the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. She explained what SPEW is, who founded it (Hermione) and how she like Ministry corporation on setting it up as an state-recognised foundation. She asked to set up a meeting where they could discuss it next Saturday, between 1pm and 3pm.

Mikayla decided to campaign with multiple state-recognised societies/charities, sending letters to their offices or known leaders. The charities being;
The Romulus Fund, it is a research centre that studies Lycanthropy and works on making better treatments for werewolves.
The Society for the Tolerance of Vampires (STV) which is exactly what the name implies. A society that advocates the welfare for Vampires.
The Troll Rights Movement, which is a society that advocates Troll rights and welfare.
The Society for the Support of Squibs, which helps Squibs have a life in the wizarding world.
St. Mungo's Creature Treatment Support, a society which specially trains healers to take care of magical creatures. Due to lack of funding only a handful of healers receive this training, so the raised money will go towards it's expansion.

For her sponsors, Mikayla chose local business that she has plenty of happy memories in as well as providing joy during these dark times. She chose WWW (Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes), Madam Malkin's Robe for all Occasions, The Three Broomsticks, Honeydukes and Il Cibo di Carmella.

As for interviews, Mikayla wrote a letter to Pepper Collins, who works for the Daily Prophet, asking to meet up with her for an interview after her meeting with the Minister on Saturday. Hoping that Pepper might have connections with magazine writers to set up other interviews leading up to the award show. She received a letter from Mary MacDonald from Witch Weekly when she being bombarded by people requesting to meet with her. Mikayla was unsure why but Mary stood out to her from all the other journalists, so she decided to accept her invitation and asked to set up an interview on next Sunday after her radio show.

For now that was all Mikayla could do, she was too tired to write songs or even chose from her prewritten ones to perform. She took a shower, scrubbing off the sweat from the Quidditch Match, plaiting her hair after she pulled on her comfy pyjamas and crawled into her welcoming bed.
