Bathroom Battle

Draco Malfoy was standing with his back to the door, his hands clutching either side of the sink, his white-blond head bowed. "Don't," crooned Moaning Myrtle's voice from one of the cubicles. "Don't... tell me what's wrong... I can help you..." She pleaded sounded truly tormented by Draco's sadness. "No one can help me," Malfoy retorted sounding utterly broken while his whole body was shaking, "I can't do it... I can't... It won't work... and unless I do it soon... he says he'll kill me..." It didn't take Harry long to realised, with a shock so huge it seemed to root him to the spot, that Malfoy was crying, tears were streaming down his pale face into the grimy basin.

Malfoy gasped and gulped and then, with a great shudder, looked up into flu-cracked mirror and saw Harry staring at him over his shoulder. Malfoy wheeled around, drawing his wand. Instinctively, Harry pulled out his own. Malfoy's hex missed Harry by inches, shattering the lamp on the wall beside him, Harry threw himself sideways, thought Levicorpus! and flicked his wand, but Malfoy blocked the jinx and raised his wand for another. "No! No! Stop it!" Moaning Myrtle squealed, her voice echoing loudly around the tiled room.

"Stop! STOP!" Mikayla felt the hairs on her arms rise as she walks back to Gryffindor, overhearing Myrtle's screams. She flinched as she heard a loud bang, the bin behind Harry had exploded, Harry attempted a Leg-Locker Curse that backfired off the wall behind Malfoy's ear and smashed the cistern beneath Moaning Myrtle. Mikayla started running as continued to hear Myrtle's screeches and the sound of gushing water filling her ears. Water poured everywhere and Harry slipped as Malfoy, his face contorted, cried, "Cruci-" Draco began, but was interrupted by Harry bellowing, "SECTUMSEMPRA!" from the floor, waving his wand wildly.

Blood spurted from Malfoy's face and chest as though he had been slashed with an invisible sword. He staggered backward and collapsed onto the waterlogged floor with a great splash, his wand falling from his limp right hand. "No-" gasped Harry. Slipping and staggering, Harry got to his feet and plunged toward Malfoy, whose face was now shining scarlet, his white hands scrabbling at his blood-soaked chest. "No, I didn't-" Harry did not know what he was saying; he fell to his knees beside Malfoy, who was shaking uncontrollably in a pool of his own blood. "MURDER! MURDER IN THE BATHROOM! MURDER!"

Mikayla bursted into the sixth floor boy bathrooms, her face drained of colour as she stared at Draco crying as blood seeped into his school shirt. Harry was knelt over him looking absolutely terrified, "move." Mikayla ordered as she rushed to Draco's side pulling out her wand, "you're going to be okay Draco, I promise." Mikayla whispered to the weeping bloodied blonde boy. Mikayla traced over the deep wounds from Harry's curse with the tip of her wand as she muttered an incantation Harry didn't recognise, "Vulnera Sanentur." The flow of blood seemed to ease, Mikayla continued to comfort the scared boy as she wiped the residue from his face and repeated her spell.

The blood that soaked Draco's white shirt, began to return to where it had spilled from and the wounds seemed to be knitting together. Harry was still watching, horrified by what he had done, barely aware that he too was soaked in blood and water. Moaning Myrtle was still sobbing and wailing overhead, the door banged open behind them as Mikayla continued to heal Draco, Snape had burst into the room, his face livid. Snape rushed over, roughly pushing Harry aside to kneel over Draco. Mikayla hadn't even heard him enter as her ears were pounding with the sound of her adrenaline spiked heart beat.

When Mikayla had performed her counter curse for the third time, Snape put a hand on her shoulder making her flinch violently, and snapping her up from Draco's sickly appearance. Mikayla only partly relaxed when seeing that it was in fact Snape that was interfering with her healing Draco, "we need to get him to Hospital Wing." Snape half lifted Draco from the ground as he spoke, "there may be a certain amount of scarring, but if he takes dittany immediately we might avoid that and your potion will help with the inner healing." Mikayla immediately got to her feet.

"I'll bring him." She decided, wrapping Draco's arm around her shoulder and wrapped her own around the middle of his back. Mikayla pulled in a deep breath after she noticed that Draco wasn't strong enough to help with getting him to the Hospital Wing. Mikayla bended her knees, before hook her other arm under the crook of Draco's knees, lifting him bridal style before rushing out of the room, leaving Harry to deal with Snape. Mikayla used as many short cuts she could remember, in her panicked state, Draco hadn't uttered a word to her but he was still wake which is a good thing.

"HELP! We need Dittany and CC now." Mikayla ordered as she bursted in the otherwise empty Hospital Wing, laying Draco down in the closest bed as Madam Pomfrey grabbed what she had asked for while asking what had happened. "Later." Mikayla promised as began to unbutton Draco's shirt to reveal the red swollen scarring streaks across his torso. "Drink some of this." Mikayla raised a vial of CC to Draco's lips, he hesitated at first but soon gave in and accepted the Black girl's help, swallowing the CC with a grimace.

Mikayla first applied the dittany to Draco's torso, rubbing it in and speeding up the healing process. Madam Pomfrey was just watching the young girl at work as she wasn't given the option to tend to Draco, even though, he should be his patient. "Rubbed the CC onto the slashes." She handed the half vial left of CC to Madam Pomfrey, before rushing over to Madam Pomfrey's potion cabinet, grabbing a blood replenishing potion, mixing it with a bottle of apple juice that was in her bag.

"Here, drink all this. You need the sugar and to replace all the blood you've lost." Mikayla told Draco after moving to where Draco's head was resting on the pillow. He looked so incredibly fragile that it made Mikayla feel nauseous as she never expected to see Draco looking so vulnerable. He winced as he tried to sit up, Mikayla swiftly pushed him back against the pillows, lowering the cup his level and hold the boy's head up so that she could aid him in consuming the drink.

About forty minutes later, Snape arrived at the Hospital Wing and dismissed Mikayla, telling her to get out of her blood and water soaked clothes. Mikayla hadn't even noticed the bloodstains that had dyed her clothes while she carried the now sleeping Draco to the Hospital Wing. Madam Pomfrey had given her a calming draught, once Draco had been stabilised, she didn't ask what had happened, mainly because Mikayla's pale appearance, and the fact that the young blond girl was shaking in shock. The sickening sight reminded Madam Pomfrey of what she had to do for Sirius Black back in his fifth year, when he had almost caused Remus to kill Snape.

"Miss Black, I suggest you return to your dorms and talk some sense into Mr Potter." Snape suggested coolly, watching the pale girl staring at the wall unblinkingly. She hadn't answer, Mikayla silently rose to her feet and retreated from the Hospital Wing. Dinner was due to start soon, meaning on her journey back, Mikayla passed many people. All of which were asking her was she okay, what had happened, why she was soaked in blood but Mikayla just ignored them and continue to stare ahead and heading to Gryffindor Tower.

They had already knew what had happen though, they just wanted to know her side of the truth, as the news had traveled very fast, apparently Myrtle had taken it upon herself to pop up in every bathroom in the castle to tell the story. Snape had told the staff precisely what had happened before he had even went to the Hospital Wing. Harry had already been called out of the common room to endure fifteen highly unpleasant minutes in the company of Professor McGonagall, who had told him he was lucky not to have been expelled and that she supported wholeheartedly Snape's punishment of detention every Saturday until the end of term.

Mikayla didn't receive a lecture, in fact, she had once again been pushed into isolation. People debating over whether or not she could truly be a good person if she had forgiven Harry for what he had done. While others thought the fact that she helped a Death Eater's son that she was showing her support to the cause, and was trying to hide her true loyalties with this egalitarian facade. Mikayla was sick of all the attention she was getting, she was stressed enough, she was already dealing with the pressure on her to win the Quidditch Final, to do well in her N.E.W.Ts, visiting Fergal, researching becoming an animagus and keeping secrets from her friends and family. She was already spread too thin, and truthfully, her friends had every reason to be very worried about her.
