Robards Interview

Midway through the commercial break, in walks the Head Auror himself, Gawain Robards, with his entourage of three buff looking Aurors. Hawthorn greeted Robards with a enthusiastic shake of hands, Lee followed his lead but was less enthused about it, while Mikayla and Fred just watched him. Robards looked in their direction, and Mikayla just raised a challenging eyebrow at him, while Fred just took his girlfriend's hand, showing his support.

Lee returned to his seat, while Hawthorn spoke to the Robards, giving him a brief on how the show usually works before showing him to his seat. Mikayla leaned into the mic as the commercial break ended, "welcome back, now before we move onto our next segment, you were promised some great music and us at WWN always deliver. This is a new song from a new American female artist by the name of Gayle. Ladies, gents and everyone in between, this is abcdefu..."

As the song played Mikayla worked on searching for her newest melody mix that she recorded. She had formed the melody without any lyrics but she has been inspired, so as Gayle tells her ex and co. to fuck themselves, she writes her own banger. She gets some one liners done before Gayle's song ends. Lee was the one to break the silence once the song ended, "that song has gotten me very hyped up for our next segment. So I am delighted to announce that we have the Head Auror himself, Gawain Robards, in the studio."

Robards formally greets the audience, by stating his full name and title, and Mikayla forces herself to swallow a scoff. "So Roberts, what is the purpose of you joining us today?" Mikayla questions, intentionally calling the Auror by the wrong name to see if he'll rise to the bait. "Well, Mikayla. As Head Auror, I thought it would be ideal to give the wizards some extra pointers to protect themselves in these troubled times, and that Politics with Jordan & Black has the biggest audience, so my pointers should reach more wizarding families." Robards answered, his voice sounding stern.

"I would've thought Gavin, that the Ministry's hold on the Daily Prophet would've been a better way to get information out to the masses. As 58% of our listeners aren't even what the Ministry would classify as a wizard, and who you've deemed as bigger threats than Death Eaters by just existing or not worthy of being protected as they do not yield wands because of wizarding law." Mikayla combatted, and it did seem to cause a stir in Robards as he shifted in his seat, he seemed to be caught in his head as to how to respond.

"Well Mikayla, you can't deny that werewolf attack have more casualties and affect more people than Death Eater attacks." Mikayla swallowed her rage that was quickly bubbling up at this comment, scolding herself to remember that she needs to be calm. "That's were I have to disagree with you, Robards. It's only a handful of werewolf attacks once a month, where Death Eaters are slaughtering muggles and Muggleborns daily. It's just the ministry wants people to fear werewolves more than they fear dark wizards, that way Voldemort doesn't seem as much as a threat to them as he is." Lee was the one who spoke up against Robards, knowing that it would seem too confrontational if Mikayla said all the bad stuff about the ministry. "Not to mention, the fact that you keep arresting innocent people and can't keep a real Death Eater in Azkaban longer than a couple of months." Mikayla adds as if it was an afterthought, but they all knew what she was doing.

"Now now, no need to be so hostile, we're all friends here. I don't condemn you for all your flaws." Robards states, looking Mikayla dead in the eyes. "No, the Daily Prophet does it for you." Mikayla retorts, "anyways, Mr Robards why don't you tell our listeners you're extra security measures to keep their families safe during these tough times." Lee prompts, giving Mikayla a chance to work on her song as she only half listens to Robards suggested protective charms. It's the same advice that has been printed in the Daily Prophet for the past year, protective spells, security questions to ask guests etc. But Mikayla refused to interrupt him, she let him talk to hear if he had anything that was actually new to add. But once he was finished his spiel with no new actual information, Mikayla stepped in.

"So, stick with us after the commercial break as we continue to interview Head Auror Gavin Roberts and to hear my newest original song." Lee pressed the Ad reel, while Mikayla showed Fred the song that she just written. "So that's what you were scribbling while I was speaking?" Robards asked Mikayla there was a hint of distaste in his voice, not that you can blame him, he's been nothing but civil to Mikayla and she's made it clear that she dislikes him. Mikayla simply ignored him as the commercial break came to an end.

"For those just tuning in now, Mikayla and I are currently joined by Head Auror Gawain Robards. Robards has just given us a list of ways that you can protect your families. But now, we have ten minutes to ask him questions and vice versa. So as always the guest gets to ask the first question." Lee gestures toward Robard, who straightens in his seat. "Mikayla, why is it that you're taking your N.E.W.Ts early?" He asks as if Mikayla is bound to tell the truth. "Well we're in the middle of a war, and I thought that my abilities would be useful to put an end to it. But I wanted to sort out my own future first before joining the fight full time." Mikayla answered, and it wasn't a complete lie, she just left out some key components that involved Dumbledore.

"Richards, why is it that you travel in a group of four?" Mikayla counter questions, tilting her head as she stared the man down. "Well being the Head Auror has put a target on me, so my lieutenants are by my side all the time, other than when we're in our safe houses." Robards explained with a tone that could only be described as condensing, as if he was explaining himself to a toddler. "Lee, what made you want to pursue radio?" Robards asked, and Lee lite up as he explained that he knew he wanted to do radio since his first match commentating Quidditch back when he was in second year. "Why do you think that you were made Head Auror?" Lee asked, "well, I have always been ambitious and fearless, and I have a lot of success on the field. So it was the Minister's obvious choice to have me replace him as Head Auror."

Mikayla let out a hmm acting as if she was intrigued by what Robards was saying. This vocalisation caused Robards to turn even more towards her, "what are you thinking about right now, Mikayla?" He asked, making the blonde smile. "Well Gary, I'm thinking that the Head Auror needs three human shields to come to a radio interview is a bit worrying. Especially after he has implied that other Aurors aren't as ambitious or fearless as him, but instead of capturing known Death Eaters, as he should due to the lack of Aurors since Scrimgeour's promotion to Minster, that he's here asking me what I'm thinking." Mikayla says clearly and not showing any sign that she was gonna back down. Lee spoke her name in warning, afraid that Mikayla is gonna take it too far. "It's okay Lee. Our friend Mikayla had some very interesting points. But as I explained earlier, I'm here to offer protection advice."

Instead of saying anything to Robards, Mikayla allowed him and Lee to question each other back and forth. Robards avoiding engaging with her as he now knows that she will do anything to discredit him to prove that they are not working together. It wasn't until Hawthorn signalled that their interview was coming to an end, that Mikayla waited for her opening to speak. "So before Rollins leaves, I'd like to perform my new original song that I would like to tribute to him. Ladies, Gents and everyone in between, this is Therefore I Am."
