"They've blocked the stairs - Reducto! REDUCTO!" Harry's heart leapt, that was Mikayla's voice, she's okay which means that the four Death Eatets had not eliminated all opposition, but merely broken through the fight to the top of the Tower and created a barrier behind them. "Now, Draco, quickly!" Bellatrix spat angrily, getting very inpatient with her nephew's hesitation in taking Dumbledore's life. But Malfoy's hand was shaking so badly that he could barely aim. "I'll do it," Greyback snarled loudly moving towards Dumbledore with his hands outstretched, his teeth bared.

"I said no!" Bellatrix yelled, there was a flash of light and the werewolf was blasted out of the way. Greyback hit the ramparts and staggered, looking absolutely furious at Bellatrix's use of magic against him. Harry's heart was hammering so hard it seemed impossible that nobody could hear him standing there, imprisoned by Dumbledore's spell, especially Greyback considering his hearing is better than most due to his lycanthropy. "Draco, do it, or stand aside so one of us-" Alecto screeched but at that precise moment the door to the ramparts burst open once more, and in walked Snape.

Snape had his wand clutched in his hand so tight that his knuckles were white as his black eyes swept the scene. Dumbledore was slumped against the wall, a pain flashing through his eyes as the last of Mikayla's potion leaves his system. He then looked to the four Death Eaters, including the enraged werewolf, and Malfoy. "We've got a problem, Snape," Amycus spoke up, his eyes and wand were fixed alike upon Dumbledore, "the boy doesn't seem able-" but Amycus was cut off by a soft spoken Dumbledore calling Snape's name.

The sound frightened Harry as for the first time ever, Dumbledore was pleading. Snape said nothing, he stared coldly back at Dumbledore as he slowly walked forwards and moved Malfoy out of his way with a shove. The other Death Eaters fell back without a word, Greyback seemingly cowering away from the ex-potions master. Snape gazed for a moment at Dumbledore, and there was revulsion and hatred etched in the harsh lines of his face. Mikayla's words haunting his mind, "Severus... please..." Dumbledore pleaded, his voice so fragile that it made goosebumps erupt on Snape's cloaked arms as he raised his wand and pointed it directly at Dumbledore. "Avada Kedavra!"

A jet of green light shot from the end of Snape's wand and hit Dumbledore squarely in the chest. Harry's scream of horror never left him, it was silent and unmoving as he was forced to watch as Dumbledore was blasted into the air. For a split second Dumbledore looked as though he was suspended under the Dark Mark's shining skull, but then he fell slowly backwards. His limp dead body keeled over the edge of the railing in the Astronomy Tower viewing balcony, and rocketed towards the grass below.

Mikayla stumbled slight, her hands slapped to her chest as pain erupted throughout her whole being from that focal point. She sinks down to her knees as her eyes shine a lime green, lighting up the whole corridor before it disappeared and Mikayla let out a choking breath. It was done. Dumbledore is dead, their unbreakable vow was no longer in place now that one of the pledgers is dead. Which means that Mikayla could finally tell everyone what was going on, if they let her after all of this. "What the bloody hell was that?" Ron asks rushing to Mikayla's side, "I-" Mikayla was interrupted by Bellatrix's gleeful cackles as the woman appeared at the end of the stairs, Snape and Malfoy already making their way through the crowd.

Harry appeared at the foot of the stairs just as the other four Death Eaters joined in the fight. The dimly lit corridor was full of dust, half of the ceiling had fallen in and the battle was raging before him, but even as Harry attempted to make out who were fighting whom, he heard the hated voice shout, "It's over, time to go!" He saw Snape manoeuvring forcefully through the fight and coming out unscathed.

Harry watched as after she sent a curse Bellatrix's way, Mikayla moved to block Snape and Malfoy's path. "You two aren't going anywhere." Mikayla told them as she raised her wand pointing it directly at Snape's face, "move now, Black." Snape ordered and when Mikayla made no move to get out of their way, Snape pushed her to the ground causing her to drop her wand. He muttered a spell under his breath, knocking Mikayla out as her body went limp against the floor.

Harry moved to chase after Snape and Malloy after they rounded the corner on the far side of the corridor but one of the fighters detached themselves from the fray and flew at him. Greyback straddled Harry against the floor with filthy matted hair blanketing Harry's face, the stench of sweat and blood filling his nose and mouth, and hot greedy breath at his throat. Harry shivered in disgust as he shouted "Petrificus Totalus!"

Fenrir collapse against Harry, and with a colossal amount of effort he was able to push the werewolf off of him and onto the floor. A jet of green light came flying toward him as he back to his feet, luckily Harry ducked in time making it just miss him before he ran head first into the fight. His feet met something squashy and slippery on the floor and he stumbled. There were two bodies lying there face down in a pool of blood, but there was no time for him to investigate the victims.

He had spotted red hair flying like flames in front of him, Ginny was locked in combat with the lumpy Death Eater, Amycus, who was throwing hex after hex at her while she easily dodged them. Amycus was giggling loudly, enjoying the game of cat and mouse, "Crucio- Crucio- you can't dance forever little girl." Amycus taunted which boiled Harry's blood boil even more. "Impedimenta!" Harry bellowed his wand pointing directly at Amycus, the jinx the Death Eater forcefully in the chest. Amycus let out a pig like squeal of pain as he was lifted off his feet and slammed into the opposite wall. Slowly he slid down the wall, falling out of sight behind Ron, Professor McGonagall, Remus and Davis, each of whom were battling a separate Death Eater, side by side.

Beyond them, Harry saw Greengrass and Tonks fighting an enormous blond wizard, Harry recognised to be Thorfinn Rowle from wanted posters after the mass breakout of Azkaban last year, who was sending curses flying in all directions. They ricocheted off the walls around them, cracking stone, shattering the nearest window. Harry was shocked to say the least at the sight of the two Slytherin girls helping his friends and the order in the battle. But before he could dwell on it, Ginny's voice cried out to him asking where he had come from. Harry didn't answer her, he couldn't waste anymore time, he wouldn't let Snape get away with this.

He shook his head at his girlfriend to silently tell her this before put his head down and sprinted forward. He narrowly avoided a blast that erupted above his head, no doubt caused by Rowle's recklessness, that showered the rest of them in bits of wall. "Take that!" Professor McGonagall shouted as she sent a curse towards Alecto Carrow, who had been menacingly hovering over Mikayla's unconscious body. This curse seemed to be enough to tell Alecto that it was time to leave as she sprinted away down the corridor with her arms over her head, her brother right behind her.

Harry launched himself after them but his foot caught on something, and next moment he was lying across someone's legs. Looking around, he saw Neville's pale, round face flat against the floor. "Neville, are you-?" Harry began but Neville quickly muttered that he was alright while still clutching his stomach. "Harry. Snape 'n'Malfoy, they ran past-" Harry interjected telling Neville that he was aware of what Snape and Draco had done and that he was working on it. From his place on the floor, Harry aimed a hex towards Rowle as he was causing the most amount of chaos. Greengrass seemed to be struggling to evade all his curses, or at least the rubble that is toppling on her from the walls and ceiling.

Thorfinn gave a howl of pain as the spell hit him in the face, wheeling around before running away after the Carrows. Harry scrambled up from the floor and began to sprint along the corridor after him. He ignored the bangs issuing from behind him, the yells of the others to come back, and the mute call of the figures on the ground whose fate he did not yet know. He skidded around the corner, his trainers slippery with blood as he tried to close the gap between him and Snape, even if Snape had an immense headstart.
