"You know, it feels like you really don't want me to leave your office, Dumbledore. That unsettles me, what are you hiding?" Mikayla asked once she knew for sure that Harry was out of earshot, "I've been here for almost three hours now." She adds after checking her watch, she didn't realise how much time had passed, "I assure you, Mikayla, I'm not hiding anything from you. Let's walk..." Dumbledore moves towards the door, opening it up for Mikayla to leave the room first. They walked in silence down the stairs, and past the gargoyle before Dumbledore spoke again.

"I want you to know Mikayla, that it was truly never my intention to cause so much pain, and you're completely right, I was blinded by making sure that everything was going according to my plan that I lost sight of why I made the plan in the first place..." Dumbledore croaked, Mikayla might've believed that the croak was from him holding back tears had it came from anyone but Dumbledore. "Was that some sort of an apology?" Mikayla asked not really sure where Dumbledore was heading with this conversation, "Yes! I'm sorry for all of the pain I've cause you." Dumbledore quickly responded as if Mikayla had given him a template to move the conversation along.

"Oh okay... I don't forgive you." Mikayla told him honestly which made Dumbledore pause in the middle of the stairs towards the Entrance Hall. "I'm not sure you understand, Mikayla, this may be the last time that-" Mikayla cut Dumbledore off, she was in utter disbelief at what Dumbledore was trying to pull right now. "No, I understand completely. But I'm not going to give you closure. You don't get that. You get to leave the rest of us behind to clean up the mess you made, and you expect me to just forgive everything you put me through just because you gave me some half assed apology and because you're gonna die soon? Fuck no." Dumbledore sighed deeply, as they both started walking down the stairs again.

Dumbledore knew that Mikayla would stay true to her words and she was completely right. He wasn't sorry, but it would've put his mind at ease at least to know that she had forgiven him before he died. There was no longer any resentment between them, that he hadn't completely failed in keeping his promise with Enya. "I used to idolise you. You always seemed so strong and like you never lost hope that you could win this war, but now I realise that you're just as bad as him. You use people like their disposable, like their lives mean nothing as long as it gets you one step closer to reaching your goal. People who are loyal to you, that put their trust in you, who put their lives in your hands are killed by your enemy and you don't even show up to their funeral. You are a coward, Dumbledore, and when you die you'll be faced with every person who died by your hand, even if it wasn't you who killed them."

When they reached the Entrance Hall Dumbledore stopped by the oak doors, this was where he would be meeting Harry, but Mikayla kept walking with the intention to return to Gryffindor Tower before Harry left. "Mikayla!" Dumbledore called after her once she reached the top of the first set of stairs, Mikayla turned around to look at him, they stared at each other for a few moments, Mikayla sighed when Dumbledore made no move to say anything else, "good luck Professor, and may the afterlife be kind to you, even if you don't deserve it." Mikayla smiled softly at him before she continued her journey to Gryffindor Tower.

As Mikayla steps through the portrait hole, she immediately sees her friends in the common room, Ron holding a pair of socks as Harry breathlessly says, "you need what's wrapped in them, it's the Felix Felicis. Share it between yourselves and Ginny too. Say goodbye to her from me. I'd better go, Dumbledore's waiting-" the portrait door closed as Mikayla joined the others. Ron began to unwrap the folded socks in his hands, while Hermione argued against Harry's plan to let them take the Felix Felicis. "I'll be fine, Hermione, I'll be with Dumbledore," Harry told her as if that meant he was in safe hands. "I want to know you lot are okay... don't look like that, Hermione, I'll see you later..." Mikayla grabbed Harry's sleeve before he could go, wrapping her arms around his body and holding onto him tightly.

"I love you, Harry. Please don't be an idiot and get yourself killed." Mikayla mumbled into his neck, she could feel Harry's wound up shoulders relax a little as he let out a small chuckle, "love you too, M. Stay safe, and don't try any of that sacrificial hero bullshit without me." Harry whispers back, dropping a kiss on the top of her head as Mikayla silently chuckled. When they pulled apart, Harry sent them a confident nod, which reassure Hermione who was on the verge of tears, before hurry out through the portrait home towards the Entrance Hall.

"So what did Dumbledore want you for?" Ron questioned after a few beats of silence, "he was official inviting me to join the order, and we had some other things to discuss..." Mikayla answered vaguely as she looked around the empty common room, "why is the common room so empty?" Mikayla asks to indicate the others that she wasn't going to expand any further on what she discussed with Dumbledore. They accepted the signal, knowing Mikayla had no other choice other than keeping said information to herself. "Everyone is at Dinner, we wanted to wait for you and Harry so that we could all head down together." Ron admits as they all move to the sofa to discuss their plans. "Why don't I just call a house elf and ask them to bring us some food. You never should partake in a life threatening mission on an empty stomach."

Hermione fought it at first, she suggested that they just head down to the Great Hall but both Mikayla and Ron voted against it. They needed to utilise the quietness of the common room to come up with an solid plan, Mikayla admitting that Harry was right and that whatever Draco was up to, is going to happen tonight. "Well Harry gave us the Map to keep an eye on Malfoy and Snape." Ron gestures to the map that Hermione was clutching tightly, "yeah, and he said to get into contact with some of the other DA members." Hermione adds quietly.

"I think we should notify the Order too. We give the DA members a choice in whether they want to get involved or not. Call them now. Tell them to meet us in the charms classroom in half an hour." Mikayla paused to look at her watch just as Kreacher arrived with three plates of dinner. "We have a couple of hours to get our shit together, but they deserve to know all the risks before we drag them into battle. We'll send our Patronuses out to the Order ten minutes before Malfoy strikes, we can't let him get wind of what we're up to or everything will go tits up." Mikayla gets to her feet as she continues to lay out the plan she curated to Ron and Hermione.

"You'll take the Felix Felicis five minutes beforehand, to give us as much time as possible in battle for it to be in effect." Hermione opened her mouth to ask how will they know when everything is going to happen, Mikayla noticed this before the words left Hermione's mouth, "I can calculate the time stamps and location through a vision. For now, just eat while I go do my thing in the dorm." Mikayla plated up her dinner with a swish of her wand, planning to scoff it down before they head down to meet the DA.

Although she isn't sure how long it could take her to complete her vision, so she looked to Hermione. "If I'm not back down in twenty minutes, you'll have to come up and break me out of the vision. Quickest way is by causing physical harm on me, so a stinging hex or something." Hermione looked as if she was going to argue against Mikayla request, but she swallowed it. Her fear of what Malfoy could be up to that it is causing so much panic in both Mikayla and Harry, was enough for her to just take orders. "Alright. Go ahead upstairs, I'll send the message to the DA before I start eating." Hermione told her, but Ron didn't seem to want to give in as easily as Hermione.

"Are you sure you should even be trying to have a vision after what happened this morning? Should you even be fighting after that?" Ron voice was quiet as he spoke, Mikayla knew that it wasn't out of fear for what's about to happen, but out of genuine worry for her well-being. Ron is still extremely angry with Dumbledore for what happened this morning, and frustrated because it seems as though Hermione and Harry have just forgotten about it. "I'll be okay. I've got you looking out for me." Mikayla smiled as she placed an affectionate hand on Ron's shoulder, "you don't always have to be the strong one. You can sit out on one mission, especially if we're serious about getting the order involved." Mikayla shook her head no at Ron's attempts to convince her to not take part. "Ron, I promise you if a mission like this is too much for me that I'll step away. But right now, I have to fight."
