Attack On The Burrow

Mikayla's bad mood didn't lift until Tonks' surprising arrival at the Burrow. Tonks arrived with a few gifts and a letter from her mother Andromeda, who would be a second cousin of Mikayla's, and one of the only people her Dad loved in Black family. Mikayla waited until after dinner to open her gifts, which were; a picture of Sirius and Enya's wedding, a customise record, a silver ring with the Sirius star, a silver and gold necklace with phoenix pendant, and book with the title 'The Marauders' Guide to Greatness.' Remus asked Mikayla to have a look at the book, it was written in a mixture of James and Sirius' handwriting, whilst Mikayla decided to read the letter Andromeda wrote to her.

'Dear Mikayla,
You don't remember me, we haven't seen each other since your first birthday, but I remember you. I've wanted to get in touch with you for a while now, ever since my daughter told me about you from what I hear you're an exactly like your parents, but if I'm being honest I wasn't sure how to.
When I heard the news about Sirius, I wanted to tear into the Ministry and straggle everyone involved in his false imprisonment. I've always known that he was innocent, I knew Sirius better than anyone else with the exception of James, but I knew that he would never cross the Potters. He loved them, they taught him the true meaning of family, they taught him what it felt to be loved and he would've been a great father to you if he was given the chance.
After I was disowned, Sirius and I stayed close, he had an obsession of Muggle music and I was his supplier, in return he babysat Nymphadora or leant me money whenever Ted and I couldn't make ends meet, you're Dad took care of us with all he could. The record I gifted you is a compilation of Sirius' favourite songs, he would be absolutely delighted that you shared his love for music.
I realised that you didn't get the chance to truly get to know what kind of man your father was, before he was arrested Sirius gifted me a book that him and his friends had made. A book for a fellow troublemaker, which he was sure Nymphadora would be, I always hated when he was right. I thought you might like to read about his adventures, he documented them all and explained each prank he pulled, some Nymphadora reused during her school days.
The jewellery I got you was so you'd have something that reflected that your parents will always be with you, the Sirius star ring and the phoenix necklace, if you may not have known this but your mother was also an animagus, she was a phoenix, I like to believe that you inherited her strength.
I'd like to meet you in person someday, maybe during the summer when you aren't as busy. I'd understand if you don't want to, it might be painful seeing me and being reminded of your Dad, but I think it would be good for the both of us, as we both truly loved Sirius and Enya.

"I can't believe they made this... it's like they wanted to be caught." Remus shook his head with a mixture of amusement and disbelief drawn on his features. "It was probably part of the thrill of it for them..." Harry pointed out, "it does sound like them alright." Remus admitted with a soft reminiscent smile on his face, "but I reckon they just wanted an excuse to spend quality time with Minnie- I mean Professor McGonagall." Mikayla snickered remembering the nickname her Dad had christened her talented head of house. "McGee was our favourite too, we always thought she secretly loved the mischief we caused." George laughed, they could all agreed that Minerva McGonagall had a soft spot of troublemakers, not matter how much she denied it.

"Every Mother's Day Sirius would get her a gift... said she was his first real maternal figure, I reckon that's why she was always more lenient with his discipline." Remus revealed to the group, Mikayla smiled at the thought of McGonagall taking care of her Dad, "no wonder she likes you most!" Ron exclaimed shoving Mikayla's arm playfully, "yeah... totally not because she always hands in her homework in time." Ginny smiled sarcastically to prevent any confusion on what she was really saying.

It wasn't long before the kids were told to head to bed, Mikayla waved at Remus and Tonks, who were putting their jackets on by the door, before she began climbing the stairs. She ended up behind Ginny, who was now tying Harry's lace, Mikayla raised a questioning eyebrow at Harry but went ignored as his eyes never left Ginny. When Ginny stood back up she wished Harry a Merry Christmas, which he returned almost instantly, but Mikayla's eyes were glued to the window as she silently counted down... 3... 2... 1.

Before she knew it the burrow was surrounded by a circle of fire and Harry pushed against her after he spotted Bellatrix. "Harry, wait!" Mikayla tried to catch his arm to stop him but she missed, Ginny started running after Harry and Mikayla could hear the adults trying to stop the young pair. "Freddie, get everyone out of the house!" Mikayla shouted before running towards the ring of fire herself. "Partis Temporus! Flamma Glacio!" Mikayla separated and froze the flames to give her a big enough gap to get through and follow Harry and Ginny.

Mikayla's legs carried faster than they ever had before, she was surrounded reeds as she followed Bellatrix's taunts into the marshland, "I killed Sirius Black! I killed Sirius Black! Are you coming to get me?" She kept running spotting a figure standing in front of Ginny, which she recognised as Fenrir Greyback. Harry appeared out of nowhere and tried but failed to stun Greyback, however using Harry's useful distract was able to stun and put the werewolf in a body bind. She linked up with Harry and Ginny, sending up red sparks to alert the others of their position.

Mikayla was breathing heavily after all the running she did, she spotted Bellatrix and proceed to stand in front of Harry and Ginny with her raised wand. Bellatrix didn't look too happy with seeing the three kids, she raised her left arm and pointed her wand onto her dark mark calling for back up. Her calls were answer by three people, Gibbon, Dolohov and none other than Fergal O'Brien.

Mikayla's face paled drastically at the sight of her step-father, he's not supposed to escape for another eight months, the future has changed and that scared Mikayla. Mikayla whispered to herself as she stared at Fergal and for the first time in a long time Mikayla was unsure of what's about to happen. "Harry!" Arthur's voice seemed to kick the Death Eaters into action, because Mikayla was quickly blocking curses being sent her, Harry and Ginny's way. Harry and Ginny helped as the Death Eaters kept apparating in the reeds, making it harder to know where the attacks are coming from.

"Ginny!" Arthur's voice sounded louder, Mikayla used the advantage of having Harry and Ginny helping her and sent up another set of red sparks, "Mikayla!" Arthur's yells were closing in and the curses were being thrown faster and faster. Mikayla, Harry and Ginny continued to cover each others backs and just block the Death Eaters attacks, instead of trying to out curse them. Remus, Tonks and Arthur soon joined the three kids, acting as shields in order to protect them, after a few moments of silence.

There was sounds of wind as black smoke appeared and the Death Eaters barrelled towards the Burrow. Mikayla just realised there was only three smoke clouds, spinning around, "Petrificus Totalus." She gets out quickly and Fergal freezes, before toppling over onto his stomach, making his face smush into the muck of the marsh. "Molly..." Arthur whispers distressed after the sounds of windows breaking filled the eerie night air, "I'll get them to the Ministry." Tonks said quickly moving towards Fergal, as Mikayla, Remus, Arthur, Harry and Ginny take off into the direction of the Burrow.

When they made it to the Weasley's front garden, Mikayla froze as she watched the Burrow burn, the entire building was aflame and Mikayla couldn't help but feel guilty about not warning them of the attack. Mikayla moved to Fred's side, taking a hold of his hand and squeezing it as everything they once knew was lost in the flames. "What are we going to do Arthur? Where are we going to live?" it was evident in Molly's scratchy voice how truly heart broken she was, "we'll figure it out love." Arthur reassured her with a sad smile.

Mikayla bit her lip before taking a deep breath and stating "the Carra Manor is free." Everyone turned to look at her, but Mikayla for once didn't shy away from the attention she was getting. "We'll rebuild the Burrow, but while that's happening, the Carra Manor is yours." Molly's lip trembled at Mikayla's words, "we can't ask you to do that-" Mikayla cut Molly off, "you've taken care of me for years, let me take care of you. Now let's put out this fire and see what we can salvage."
