The street lights shone brightly in the dim hours of the morning.

It was close to seven, and The roommates were sipping on their last drops of coffee as they made their way into Edenbrook.

It was a Monday, which meant it had been already two days since the day of the baseball game with one day off inbetween on Sunday for the group of residents. Neither Blue nor Ethan really contacted each other after the kiss they had shared under the rain outside his apartment, but Blue knew that he would rather address it in person and besides, he hated texting.

He was sorting out his qualms with his father and they both needed to sort out their own feelings after all. A day was very much needed. She was just afraid that they were going to be awkward with each other, or even worse, Ethan repeats his pattern of pulling away or even running away to some other country other than the Amazon due to that one kiss.

That was the greatest fear that she had.

Of him leaving her alone.

Again.

Sienna seemed to noticed the skittish behaviour of her friend since the day she had gotten back from Ethan's. When she had asked her for the details the next morning, Blue had just shot her shy and giddy smile before trotting her way back into her bedroom. Whatever happened, must have been good, Sienna deduced, and until she was ready to tell her, she would wait.

The moment the four roommates entered the atrium of the ever so celestial Edenbrook, despite it's impending doom, they froze. It was as if they were in their intern year all over again. They knew that the interns had these large-scale meetings ever so often, but it had been a long time since the residents were involved in these. That was why they were shocked to see both internal medicine and surgical residents there along with the interns in front of the small stage-like podium where Chief Harper Emery used to give them speeches in their intern year.

They remembered filing to the atrium to look at their rankings during that god forsaken Diagnostics Team fellowship competition that drived some of them to even go as far as to harming those that competed with them. Landry.

Blue gritted her teeth, shaking the thoughts of seeing him two days ago at the game, instead opting to be positive of the fact that they won that game fair and square and that too in Tobias' and Landry's face. But Aurora...despite that one day of break, she barely saw their roommate from Mass Kenmore, nor spoken to her yet. Well, it was a concern for another day.

"Psst...Ines, what's going on?" Blue asked as they joined the crowd nect to the senior residents. "No idea, we were all paged right as we got here." Ines replied rubbing at her eyes tiredly. Man, Third-year residency had got to be more taxing then her senior residents let on. Especially Zaid, who rather looked awake on the other side of Ines.

Soon, all the excited chattering in the atrium quietened down as Naveen walked up onto the stage like structure. Even then, Blue could not help but note how more Chief-like he was as compared to Harper. Not that she was any less qualified to be chief, but because of the air of respect and authority he commanded. Also, partly due to the fact that Harper's heart was truly more into the surgery at that point of time still.

Then, Blue felt a sudden stir in the pit of her stomach. It was as if she could feel him.

The goosebumps on her arm flared up like a signal that he was coming. The ever so hypnotising and intense feeling that attacked her being every single time he was near her.
