"You know, I admire the gamble you're taking."

Blue averted her gaze away from Ethan with much effort, and casted it towards her friends instead, who were still relishing in the fact that what seemed like it was going to be gone for good, was reopening once again.

"I can't believe it." she breathed out, with what seemed like relief as well as trepidation. "Edenbrook is coming back."

"And then some. Did you hear about all the changes they're making?" Sienna asked.

Jackie nodded in response. "I heard the whole building is getting overhauled."

"That's why we're only going to be able to see patients for a few weeks before it closes down again." Aurora added.

"You're kidding." Bryce let out. "I thought they were keeping one floor open during construction."

Elijah nodded, looking around at the small crowd of staff in the atrium again. "That was the original plan, but apparently the changes are going to be even more extensive than they thought."

"Judging from the amount of construction equipment parked in the ambulance bay, 'extensive' is just the beginning." Rafael responded.

Blue slumped a little against the table that was set at the back. Though the reopening reception was small, Leland had invited huge business partners and medical administrators, with whome he was currently chatting with. There were also a few exclusive reporters and media that were covering the reception. This was clearly to gain publicity for the hospital and for Leland himself.

"In that case, this party feels like an ego-trip." Blue remarked, before her features contorted into a look of disdain for the billionaire. "Any chance to play the big philanthropist, right?"

"Charity is basically a fashion show for a certain type of rich person." Brey agreed with her.

Jackie seemed to share the same sentiment as she pitched in, "They act like heroes, but only so long as everyone is watching."

"I'm just glad that we could manage the partial reopening." Danny said, with Aurora nodding in agreement. "Even if we only see a few hundred patients before construction kicks into high gear, that's meaningful."

"I think we can all agree on that." Blue supported.

"Speaking of kicking into high gear..." Kyra trailed as she turned to Danny. "How's your physical therapy going, Danny?" she asked him.

A smile made its way up Danny's face as he replied, "Actually...it went great. Last week was my last session. The therapist told me I've recovered so well with Raf's help, that I was basically just using him as a personal trainer."

"He's been working real hard for the past few months." Sienna beamed proudly up at him, and he returned her fond smile.

"You've really found a knack for PT haven't you, Raf?" Elijah grinned up at Rafael. "I heard you have almost completely finished your private degree in sports and exercise science over the past few months."

"That's right." Rafael grinned. "Helping Danny with his sessions along with the other physiotherapists have really gotten me interested in this field more, and I went ahead to take up a private degree, as I did complete a diploma in the exact same course before."

"That's fantastic, Raf!" Blue smiled. "Does that mean you'll be going back to your job as an E.M.T., or are you looking for something related to your new degree?" she asked him.
