Right Here
"...It's okay, you're safe, I'm right here..."
______________________________________It had been a few days later, Blue was lounging around back in her shared apartment.
Ethan had gone back to work, while Naveen insisted that Blue took a little more time off for both counselling and physical therapy as well. Reluctantly, Ethan had dropped Blue back in her apartment, not before giving her long lingering kiss.
That had been the longest they had spend time together in over a year, and Ethan could not help but be a little selfish and keep her with him a little longer. Still, Blue had promised to contact him everyday, and he agreed to make an exception for her to text him.
Sienna had told her that she somehow managed to convince her friends that she was staying with a relative in Boston, and Blue had thanked her for covering up for her. The roomies had all been shocked when they had seen her gone back to her caramel hair colour, but nonetheless they were glad to see her doing much better.
Blue sighed as she read finished the tenth medical journal that Ethan had given her to pre-occupy herself at home. She always loved reading about medicine, but when that was all she had been doing for the past few days, it had started making her feel restless.
The weather had turned wintry, with cool winds seeping through the open windows. Blue shivered as she moved through the empty apartment to shut the windows.
She considered going back to work, even though Naveen insisted that she rested a little more, but when she imagined walking through the corridors...passing the room where it happened...visiting the guard house only to realize that Bobby was not there, and never will be again...she could not bring herself to do it.
Her therapist, Dr. Argent had recommended her to try and walk through those places of trigger again, to build up her mental strength, and she did try a few times. However, all those attempts only ended up with her trying to recover from a panic attack once she had ran back to Dr. Argent's office in the east-wing.
Sighing, Blue flopped back on the couch. She was about to text Ethan, hoping that he was on break, and had time to text her, when she heard her doorbell ring. She stood up with a groan, her muscles still a little sore from all the bed rest, and made her way over to the door.
She opened it to find a bouquet of roses on the floor, wrapped in grey wrapper. She looked out her door, seeing the delivery man enter the elevator. She picked up the bouquet, bringing it inside.
She looked around it to see a small card attached to it:
Hey Hunter, hope you're feeling better. I heard from Aurora that you were not going to be home for a week as you're staying with a relative, so I waited to send you these. I know you're probably gonna wonder why I even sent you them when I always get on your nerves whenever we see each other, but I geniunely just wanna make sure you're holding up okay. Take care.
- Tobias Carrick
Blue read the letter with wide eyes. She was surprised, for sure, but she could not help but be flattered as well. After all, Tobias did come forward to help save her when she was fighting for her life. She wanted to thank him, but realized that she did not have his number. She would have to ask Aurora when she came back home, she mentally noted before filling up one of Sienna's vase with water and placing the roses in it.
Just then, there was a knock on the door again. Perplexed, Blue carried the vase of roses with her, just in case she had to smash someone's head with it, to the door.
Slowly, she opened the door, only to see Farley, her landlord.
"Hey, Blue. Just wanted to see how you were holding up." he told her, handing her a small bouquet of sunflowers. Looking like a florist with the two boquet of flowers, Blue blinked at him with surprise. "Farley...thanks for the flowers. Yeah, I'm doing fine." she said.
