Chapter 8

Sid's POV:

When I saw Avu on terrace, I decided to ask her help as she seems closest to dada. But she didn't agree. She went away, but I didn't miss her anger and worry. I went behind her to ask her if everything is alright, but heard her speak, I think I missed what she had been saying before that. 

Avu: After so much time he had left it behind, though not completely, then why has it come back? I just hope she doesn't confess to him, or both will be heartbroken.

I am sure she was talking about dada and Vaish. But what happened that dada had left behind, but has returned? And if Vaish confesses and dada doesn't love her, she will be heartbroken, but who else will be heartbroken? I saw that she had fallen asleep, so I made her sleep properly and covered her with a blanket before going towards my room when I saw Vaish. 

Vaish: Sid, tu Avu ke kamre mein tha? { Sid, were you in Avu's room?}

Sid: Wo mai terrace par gaya tha, aur Avu bhi wahi thi, toh hum baate kar rahe the, phir mai abhi apne room mein ja raha tha. Aap yaha kya kar rahe ho? { I had gone to the terrace, and Avu was also there only, so were talking, then I was going to my room. What are you doing here?}

Vaish: Mai tujhe hi dhund rahi thi. Tu kal dadi se milne ja raha hai kya? { I was looking for you only. Are you going to meet dadi tomorrow?}

Sid: Ha. Aap aa rahe ho kya? { Yes. You are coming along?}

Vaish: Nahi. Tu itne dino baad mil raha hai, mujhe aise family time mein beech mein aana bilkul nahi pasand hai, aur mili huyi hu dadi se toh pehle bhi. { No. You are meeting her after so many days, I don't like coming in between in family time like this, and I've met dadi earlier.}

Sid: Hmm. Acha ab mai sone jaa raha hu. Goodnight. { Hmm. Ok I am going to sleep now. Good night.}

Vaish: Good night. 

I went to my room and slept. Next morning: 

I was ready to go and was just having breakfast. 

Abhi: Chote, mai nahi aa paunga tere sath dadi ko milne, mujhe studio jana hoga. { Chote, I won't be able to come with you to meet dadi, I have to go to studio.}

Sid: Uh.. thik hai. Mai milke aa jaunga. { Uh.. ok. I'll meet her and come.}

After that I left for dadi's house. Soon I reached the apartments. I went to her flat and rang the bell. Her caretaker opened the door, and I greeted her before going to dadi's room. 

Dadi: Sid, aao. Itne dino baad aaye ho. Abhi nahi aaya? { Sid, come. You've come after so long. Abhi didn't come?}

Sid: Unhe studio jaana tha, isliye nahi aa paye. { He had to go to the studio, so he couldn't come.}

Dadi: Koyi baat nahi, phir kabhi aa jayega. Sid, beta ab tu ek ladki dhund le apne liye, Abhi toh dhund hi chuka hai. { It's fine, he'll come some other day. Sid, now you find a girl for yourself, Abhi already has found one.}

Dada ne is baare mein mujhe toh nahi bataya. { Dada didn't tell me anything about this.}

Sid: Ji dadi. 

Dadi: Tujhe pata hai, Abhi ne bahut achi ladki dhundi hai. Ek saal pehle milaya tha mujhse. Bas wo dono shadi nahi karna chahte abhi, bol rahe hai unhe thoda wakt chahiye. Par mujhe uski zyada chinta nahi hai, wo ladki achi hai itna hi kafi hai mere liye. Bas tu bhi ek ladki dhund le taaki mujhe itna pata rahe ki mere pothe khush rahege mere jaane ke baad. Ab toh kuch hi mahine aur hai. { You know, Abhi has found a really nice girl. He made me meet her one year back. They both don't want to marry now, they are saying they need time. But I am not worried about it much, that girl is good, this is enough for me. You just find a girl so that I know that my grandsons will be happy after I go. Now only few months are left.}

Sid: Dadi aap chinta mat karo, mai jald hi ek achi ladki dhund lunga. Par aap aisa mat bola karo. { Dadi you don't worry, I'll find a nice girl soon. But you don't say like this.}

Dadi: Hmm. Acha tu bata kaisa tha Cannada mein? { Hmm. You tell me how was it in Canada?}

Sid: Acha tha. Mai kal hi aaya. Bhaiya aur sabke liye surprise tha. { It was good. I came yesterday only. It was a surprise for bhaiya and the others.}

We talked for sometime before I had to leave. 

Sid: Dadi, ab mujhe jaana hoga. { Dadi, I'll have to go now.}

Dadi: Thik hai. { Ok.}

I went back home, thinking about how much I have missed in these two years. I feel like I barely know anything about Dada now. First that what Avu was saying and now Dada's girlfriend. Why didn't anyone tell me about her? Even Dada didn't, nor did Avu when I said her that Vaish loves Dada. And when Dada loves someone else, then what did the words she said last night mean? Thinking all this I reached home. Right now only Reem must be at home. I went inside to see Jai also there. I went to my room, not in the mood of talking to anyone. Today I didn't call Muskan also. After few hours Avu came back. Vaish is not at home, I can ask her right now. I went to her room and knocked. She opened after few minutes, but her eyes widened seeing me and she closed the door. After sometime I was about to go when she opened it again.

Avu: Sid, tum yaha? { Sid, you here?}

Sid: Ha, mujhe kuch baat karni thi. { Yeah, I wanted to talk about something.}

Avu: Andar aao na. { Come in no.}

Sid: Tujhe toh pata hoga ki Dada ki  girlfriend hai? { You must know that Dada has a girlfriend right?}

She nodded looking nervous.

Sid: Toh kal jab maine tujhe bataya Vaish ka, toh tune bataya kyu nahi ki Dada kisi aur se pyaar karte hai? Kaun hai woh ladki? { Then why didn't you tell me that Dada loves someone else when I said you about Vaish? Who is that girl?}

Avu: Sorry ki maine kal nahi bataya. Par ab please dhyaan rakhna ki Vaish Abhi ko kuch na bole. Aur Vaish ko pata mat chalne dena ki Abhi ki koyi girlfriend hai. { I am sorry for not telling it to you yesterday. But now please make sure Vaish doesn't tell anything to Abhi. And don't let Vaish know that Abhi has a girlfriend.}

Sid: Thik hai, par unki girlfriend hai kaun? { Ok, but who is his girlfriend?}

Avu: Woh mai nahi jaanti hu. { I don't know that.}

I could tell she was lying seeing her nervousness and from what I saw till now she knows more than others about Dada, but didn't ask knowing she didn't want me to know. But why are they hiding it from me?
