Chapter 32

Reem: Acha mai baadme baat karti hu. Abhi thoda busy hu. { I'll talk to you later. I am a bit busy right now.}

Sid: Hmm. Bye. 

She hung up. I was really happy, since I know Jai is perfect for my sister, and they both love each other. Just then the bell rang. I went and opened it to see Vaish. 

Vaish: Kya baat hai, aaj itna khush dikh raha hai. { You look very happy today.}

Sid: Ha, Jai ne Reem ko aaj propose kar diya. { Yes, Jai proposed Reem.}

Avu: Sach? { Really?}

We turned to see Avu standing at the door. I nodded, and she smiled widely. She closed the door after coming inside. 

Avu: Abhi aur Faisnat ko pata hai? { Do Abhi and Faisnat know?}

Sid: Nahi, Reem ghar aayegi phir batayegi un teeno ko. Abhi woh hospital gayi hai. Waise tu jaldi aa gayi? { No, Reem will come home and then tell those three. Right now she has gone to the hospital. Btw you came early?}

Avu: Ha, Ari ko ghar jana tha. Mai Jai se baat karne ja rahi hu. { Yes, Ari had to go home. I am going to talk to Jai.}

She went to her room, looking excited. After sometime dada also came downstairs. 

Sid: Dada, studio kab le jaoge hume? { Dada, when are you taking us to the studio?}

Vaish: Hume? { Us?}

Sid: Ha, aap bhi. { Yes, even you.}

Abhi: Tum log agle hafte aana Monday ko. { You both come next week on Monday.}

Sidnavi: Ok. 

Abhi: Avu? 

Sid: Aa gayi hai, Jai se baat kar rahi hai phone par, apne room mein. { She had come, she is talking to Jai on call, in her room.}

He nodded and went to her room. 

End of POV. 

Abhi reached Avu's room and knocked. She opened the door and let him in before closing it again. 

Avu: Acha mai baadme baat karti hu. Bye. { I'll talk to you later. Bye.}

She cut the call before turning to Abhi. 

Avu: Aapko kuch kaam tha? { You had some work?}

Abhi: Avu, ab aage kya? { Avu, what now?}

Avu: Mai us baare mein bhul hi gayi thi, dadi ki death aur kaam ki wajah se. Ab jo hona hoga wo hoga, bas kaise bhi karke humne jo socha wo karna hai. { I had forgotten about it, because of dadi's death and work. Now whatever has to happen will happen, we just have to do what we had decided in any way.} 

Abhi: Par aise suddenly, kaise? { But suddenly like this, how?}

Avu: Aur koyi option hai? { Is there any other option?}

Abhi: Nahi. Waise tu aur Arhaan kal terrace par kar kya rahe the? { No. Btw what were you and Arhaan doing on the terrace?}

Avu: Wo mujhse puch raha tha ki hum dono usse nafrat kyu karte hai. Aapko kaise pata wo mujhe terrace le gaya tha? { He was asking me why we both hate him. How do you know he had taken me to the terrace?}

Abhi: Kyunki pehle woh tujhe hi dekh raha tha, phir tere jaate hi woh bhi chala gaya, Sid ne bola tu terrace par gayi hai, aur wo tujhe of course kisi room mein nahi le jata. { Because at first he was looking at you, then as soon as you left he also went, Sid said you were on the terrace, and he of course wouldn't take you to any room.}

Avu: Acha, mujhe laga tha ek hi chalak bandar hai, aaj pata chala dono ke paas dimaag hai, par sirf kabhi kabhi use karte ho use. { Oh, I thought only one monkey is intelligent, today I realised both have brain, but both of you use it sometimes only.}

Avu said, laughing, causing him also to chuckle. 

Abhi: Chote ne aisa kya kara ki woh chalak bandar ban gaya? { What did Chote do to earn the title of intelligent monkey?}

Avu: Kuch nahi. Abhi, hum Vaish ka kya kare? Wo nahi janti hai humari relationship ke baare mein. Mai nahi chahti aage bhi pata chale. { Nothing. Abhi, what to do about Vaish? She doesn't know about our relationship. I don't want her to know in future also.}

Abhi: Hum usse yeh baat chupa kyu rahe hai? Matlab, aisa toh hai nahi ki woh mujhse pyaar karti hai, aur use hurt nahi karna chahte ho. { Why are we hiding this from her? I mean, it's not like she loves me, and we don't want to hurt her.}

Avu was shocked hearing this, he had guessed the right thing, but was sure it's not like that.  Seeing her shocked, Abhi was confused. He remembered his words, and it didn't take him much time to connect the dots. Avu asking Abhi to stay away from Vaish, hiding about their relationship from her and now getting shocked on hearing his words. Avu got scared when she saw realisation in his eyes. 

Abhi: Tujhe yeh baat kabse pata hai? { Since when do you know this?}

Avu: Jis din Vaishu aur Sid aaye the, us raat Sid ne mujhe bataya tha. { Since the day Vaishu and Sid came, that night Sid had said me.}

Abhi: Tune mujhe kabhi bataya kyu nahi, itne din nikal gaye? { Why didn't you tell me, so many days passed by?}

She looked down. 

Avu: Aap jankar kya karte? Vaish se yeh kehte ki aap unse pyaar karte ho, jisse aapko takleef hoti, ya yeh ki aap unse pyaar nahi karte ho, jo unka dil tod deta? Ki yeh bolte ki aapki pehle se ek girlfriend hai? Kuch nahi kar paate aap, par aap ek baar phir toot jaate. Aur mai aapko dard mein nahi dekh sakti. { What will you do by knowing? Tell Vaish that you love her, which would cause you pain, or that you don't love her which would break her heart? Or you would say her that you already have a girlfriend? You wouldn't have been able to do anything, but you would have once again broken. And I can't see you in pain.}

She started crying while saying this. Abhi also knew this reality, but it was very difficult to accept it. He hugged her, trying to calm her. 

Abhi: Is baar aisa kuch nahi hone dunga mai, aise hi rahunga jaise is baat se anjaan hu. Mera Vaish se dosti se badhkar koyi rishta nahi hoga. { I won't let anything like this happen this time, I'll be like I am unaware of this. I'll not have any relation more than of friendship with Vaish.}

This made her smile, but it couldn't assure her. She just hoped he is able to stay to his words this time.
