Chapter 27

Next morning I woke up and saw the time to realize I was late. Didn't the alarm ring? I got up and screamed when I saw everyone standing, looking at me like I am an alien first time found on earth. All got startled by it. 

Avu: Sote hue insaan ko aise kaun ghurta hai? { Who stares a sleeping person like this?}

Sid: Hum abhi just aaye tujhe uthane aaye, par tu khud uth gayi, aur chillane lagi hume dekh kar. { We came just now to wake you up, but you woke up by yourself, and started screaming seeing us.}

Avu: Lekin itna late ho gaya hai, pehle kyu nahi uthaya? { But it is so late, why didn't you all wake me earlier?}

Fais: Tujhe dhund rahe the. Tere room mein Abhi so raha tha, aur bhai sahab uthne ko tayar nahi hai. Phir Vaish mili, usne bataya tu idhar so rahi hai. { We were looking for you. Abhi was sleeping in your room, and he wasn't ready to get up. Then we found Vaish, she said you are sleeping here.}

Avu: Acha mai tayar hokar aati hu. { I'll get ready and come.}

I said going towards the bathroom. 

Jaan: Ye Abhi ka kamra hai, tere kapde yaha nahi hai. { This is Abhi's room, your clothes are not here.}

Avu: Oh ha. 

I went to my room to see Abhi sleeping there. 

Avu: Abhi, utho. { Abhi, wake up.}

Abhi: Aaj studio nahi jana hai, kal hi wapas aaye hai. { I don't have to go to studio today, we returned yesterday itself.} 

Avu: Toh? Poore din sote rahonge? Utho aur niklo, mujhe tayar hona hai. { So? You'll keep sleeping whole day? Get up and get out, I have to get ready.}

Abhi: Apne kapde leja le na bathroom mein. Reem uth gayi? { Take your clothes to the bathroom. Reem woke up?}

Avu: Ha, use Jai ne utha liya, call se. Aur mai bahar aau jitne uth jana, warna paani daal dungi aapke upar. { Yes, Jai woke her up, by call. And wake up before I come out, otherwise I'll throw water on you.}

Abhi: Hmm.

He slept again, making me sigh. I went and got ready. I came out to see he had woken up. I went and dried my hair. I was going out of the room when I saw him sitting and looking at me only. 

Avu: Aap bhi jakar tayar ho jao na. { You also go and get ready no.}

Abhi: Ha ja raha hu. { Yeah I'm going.}

I went downstairs and he went to his room. I saw everyone having breakfast. I also joined them. After that I and Sid left. I was driving the car when my phone rang. 

Avu: Sid, mera phone check kar na. { Sid, check my phone no.}

Sid: Ha. Dadi likha hai. { Yes. Dadi is written here.}

Avu: Teri dadi hi hai. Phone utha kar speaker par daal de. { It's your dadi only. Pick the call and put it on speaker.}

He did as I said. It was dadi's helper. 

DH: Hello, ma'am, daadiji... 

She was crying, which got us worried. 

Sid: Didi, aap shant hojao phir bolo. { Didi, you calm down then say.}

DH: Dadiji ab nahi rahi. Marne se pehle bol rahi thi ki ab unhe koyi chinta nahi hai, sab thik hai, isliye woh bahut khush hai ki koyi adhuri icha lekar nahi mari. { Dadiji is no more. Before dying she was saying that now she has no worries, everything is good, that's why she is very happy that she didn't die with any incomplete wish.}

Tears gathered in my eyes but I quickly wiped them away because I was driving. 

Avu: Didi, hum baadme baat karte hai, abhi hum gaadi mein hai. { Didi, we'll talk to you later, right now we are in the car.}

I leaned over and cut the call and sat properly. I glanced at Sid, who was crying badly. I stopped the car in the parking before turning to Sid. We were at papa's office, so luckily there were barely few empty cars, and there was very little chances of someone coming. I removed my seatbelt before turning to Sid, who also removed his seatbelt. I immediately pulled him into a hug, knowing he needed comfort. Sid and Abhi were really close to their dadi.  He cried for sometime on my shoulder, before his tears stopped, but he was still sobbing. I gave him glasses and mask.

Avu: Yeh pehen, phir bahar aana. { Wear this, then come out.}

He nodded. I messaged papa, saying we have come to the office, but can't meet him right now. And that I am taking Sid to the second conference room. He replied saying to go to the third one, not asking the reason. Then Sid came out. We reached the reception, and I wore my glasses and mask as well.

R: What do you want? 

I hate this rude lady, I don't know why papa has let her be the receptionist for so long. 

Avu: We are here to meet Mr. Nandra. We have the card. 

I said, forwarding it. It's the card which gives permission to enter at anytime. She nodded and said us the way. We both started going to the third conference room. 

Sid: Unhone toh alag rasta bola tha. { She had said a different way.}

Avu: Hum Mr. Nandra ke cabin mein nahi ja rahe hai. Tu pehle apna muh dhole, aise jayega kya? { We are not going to Mr. Nandra's cabin. You first wash your face, will you go like this?}

He looked confused but didn't ask anything. We went inside and I locked the door, not wanting someone entering here by mistake. We both took off our masks and glasses. I gave him the water kept there. Papa keeps water in all the conference rooms and cabins for emergency. He drank some. After that he went and washed his face. Now he was completely calm and fine. 

Sid: Ab chalte hai. { Let's go now.}

Avu: Hmm. Hum ghar ja rahe hai boss se milne ke baad, mujhe nahi lagta humara man lagega kaam mein. { Hmm. We are going home after meeting boss, I don't think we'll be able to concentrate on work.}

He nodded, knowing I was right. Dadi's death was affecting him a lot. He will move on, but needs some time. We both left for the meeting.
