Chapter 3: Making Gains

It had been a few days since Y/n was able to somewhat repair the old van, in these days, he had earnt a decent amount of money from working the odd jobs around Beach City: namely making repairs. With the money, he was able to fully repair the van as he brought many of the parts he needed, not only that, but he gave it a fresh coat of Maroon coloured Paint complemented with some Carbon Black, he was able to borrow  some paint and the paint brushes off of a woman named Vidalia after he fixed her car.

While he was working, Y/n found out that he could visit the local library in order to use a computer, he had learnt this after overhearing some teens talk about it as he repaired their Pizza car.

Oddly enough, Y/n had begun to appreciate this small town, he was warming up to the friendly atmosphere, even though he didn't have a home, it was beginning to feel like it.

"Pair, I'm heading to the Library, wanna come?" Y/n asked the small robot as he leaned on the van. After a few short beeps, Y/n chuckled. "Okay come on, just try not to be seen." He said, opening the passenger side door for the little drone to climb in.

Once Pair was in the seat, he shut the door, moving to the opposite one so he could get in. Once he was in, Y/n started the van, with it starting much easier this time around thanks to all the repairs. He reversed the van ever so slightly, making it easier to head in the direction he wanted. Once he got passed the annoying tree line, he started driving towards the main road, planning on stopping for gas on the way.

"Right, just making a quick stop for gas ... and yes I know that its an insufficient fuel source but it's the best we've got!" Y/n said as he made his way onto the main road, which was surprisingly quiet, only a few cars would pass by. Still, he soon saw the sign for the gas station, making sure to pull in.

"Stay here, I won't be long." He said to the little robot before turning and beginning the process of filling up the tank. Once Y/n was satisfied with how much he added, he placed everything back where it was and headed into the store.

Instead of buying snacks or drinks, Y/n went straight to the till and paid 30-dollars for the amount of fuel he added. Placing the receipt in his pocket he left the store and was quick to enter his van once again.

"That should last us for a while, lets get to the library." Y/n nodded, starting the van up and leaving the gas station. He drove down the main road for another few minutes before seeing the sigh to the library, taking a left, he parked in one of the bays closest to the doors since the parking lot was practically empty.

"I'll carry you in, try not to draw attention ... but I don't think that will be a problem anyway ..." Y/n said, looking at the deserted car park before opening the door to let him and Pair out. He quickly closed the door and locked the van, picking up Pair and entered the library.

Looking around it was set out like a usual library and after a bit of searching, he managed to find the public computers. Y/n didn't have to worry about loosing his chance to get on a computer as no one seemed to be around, only the librarian.

Either way, Y/n sat down at the computer with Pair on his lap, loading up the internet and typing in Empire City Stocks. The computer loaded for a second before showing him the site he wanted, it was the stock exchange website of a place called Empire City.

"Alright, what stocks do you think I should buy?" Y/n asked in a whisper to the drone sitting in his lap. After a few beeps and looking at the screen, occasionally nudging Y/n's arms so he would scroll down, soon coming to a decision.

"You sure? Lion Lickers and Le hotel?" Y/n asked as he looked at the company charts, they were relatively new businesses but had shown remarkable growth. Pair beeped in agreement, convinced that these would help Y/n make some money.
