"You are quite adamant in ignoring your own problems," Rose said to Y/n as he sat on his bed in the lighthouse, "I appreciate your concern for Steven and his wellbeing, but you are human too, surely you must realise that,"

Y/n shook his head, "Look, I'm fine, I've got friends I can hang out with and a mission in mind, just ... Go back to the pink place or whatever," He said as he stood up and walked over to the kitchen,

"Mission? May I ask what it is?" Rose asked, still not showing herself,

Y/n rolled his eyes, "Y'know, protecting the Earth, the gems, steven," He said, "That kind of thing,"

Rose sighed, she knew there was no way she would be able to get through to him, it would require a team effort to get him to lower his defences, but even then, she fears it might not work ... "Very well, I wish you the best for today, whatever it may bring,"

And with that farewell, Y/n was left alone in the kitchen. He knew what Rose was on about, but what was the point in talking about it when he was constantly busy working with the gems and protecting what he has left.

With a sigh, he rubbed his eyes, then his hand ran through his (Y/c) hair, "May as well have a good breakfast to get this day started,"

Y/n spend the next 20 minutes preparing some breakfast for himself, he wasn't entirely sure if Lapis or Peridot would show up, but he made some extra in case they decided to appear, but if they didn't then, well, more for him.

The human sat at the kitchen table, eating the food he had prepared. It was quiet, something that Y/n had not been able to experience in a long, long while.

Not much else happened to Y/n, he sat, he ate, and he most definitely pondered on everything going on. Soon, however, a scurrying sound could be heard ascending the stairs.

It was then the door slammed open, "Y/N!" Peridot shouted,

"What?" Y/n groaned slightly at the sudden loud voice that appeared, "Something wrong?"

"Erm ..." Peridot rubbed her arm slightly, "No, nothing's wrong,"

Y/n raised an eyebrow as he finished the last bit of his food and placed the plate in the sink, "Okay? Then why the sudden appearance?"

"Well ..." Peridot started, nothing was wrong with her, but Lapis was not so good ... "Its not me, its ... Lapis," She said the last part quietly,

Y/n turned towards her, even though the last part of her sentence was quiet, he heard it clear as day, "What's up with Lapis?" He said, "She seemed fine the last time I saw her,"

Y/n moved closer to Peridot, "It's ... What happened on Homeworld with Steven," She explained as he looked down, "Its really shaken her up,"

The human hummed, "I guess Steven finally told her everything?" He asked, earning a nod from Peridot, "Mmm, well, where is she? I'll see if I can calm her down,"

"She's at the top," Peridot pointed to the door, "She didn't want me there,"

"Here we go, helping another lost soul," Rose said in Y/n's head, "Always helping other people, but never yourself, how odd ..."

Y/n sighed internally, Rose clearly wasn't going to let this go, but he can ignore her for a while. "Alright, Let me try," He walked past Peridot, opened the door, and walked up the stairs,

"Go away Peridot," Lapis said coldly, not bothering to turn around,

"Guess I can stay," Y/n chuckled as he stepped closer, "Since, y'know, last time I checked, I don't think I was green,"
