It had been almost two weeks since Y/n's encounter with that gem monster, more had started showing up, not just at his camp, but all over the place. It was as if something was drawing them here.

Not everything was bad, the stocks that Y/n had invested into lion lickers had finally paid off, selling them, he was able to earn almost 500,000 Dollars. While he didn't have the money himself, Mayor Dewey had agreed to look after it, he made sure to have a little discuss with him if that money ended up missing.

None-the-less, he now had a ton of money, he first plan was to get Mayor Dewey to hire a construction crew of build him a cottage in the forest and his next plan was to sort out his weaponry: his pistol only had two magazines left, the corrupted gems that had shown up were often bested by the 'Crystal Gems' as they were called, so he had no reason to waste ammo or even get involved.

During these two weeks, Y/n had kept a close eye on the Crystal Gems as he learnt their name, it was a team of three; Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst, but there was also a small kid named Steven, he didn't seem too important though.

Y/n was quick to figure out they were also gems, thanks to their names, but also the gems embedded on their body, they shared that with the 'Corrupted Gems', but the Crystal Gems could speak and think. It was strange, he didn't know what to think about them, they seemed to have good intentions as they frequently protected the town against gem monsters, but they didn't seem to be fond of humans.

"NOOOOOO!" A voice yelled out in the distance as if their favourite ice cream was discontinued. Y/n opened his eyes, sitting up as he looked around the familiar camp.

"Pair, I think we should start construction on the house ... I don't think I can sleep in here anymore ..." He groaned as he stretched the tried and cramped muscles in his upper body.

Luckily, he was able to land a decent amount of work during the two weeks, earning him more money so he could stay living just a little bit better. Instead of wearing his green, long-sleeve t-shirt and black cargo shorts, he instead brought some khaki shorts and a white long-sleeved t-shirt.

After a few moments of sitting there, he stood up and got out of the van. "I think I'll head down to Mayor Dewey now; it'll be nice to have a walk." Y/n yawned as he started walking down towards beach City, hearing Pair beep in understanding behind him as he soaked his skin in the sun light.

It has been a rough few weeks, he's had to bathe in the ocean with whatever shampoo he could afford, but he's getting there. "Hopefully, the cottage doesn't take too long to build ..." He mumbled as he gradually got closer to the friendly town.

It didn't take him long to reach the Mayor's building, he walked in and pass the receptionist as she already knew who he was. Opening the door to the Mayor's office. "Mayor Dewey, I think we should start construction on the cottage." Y/n walked up to the Mayor's desk, making eye contact with the man.

"About that ... why don't you buy the lighthouse? Its closer to the town and its very spacious inside." Mayor Dewey suggested.

"Hmmm ... I don't know, how much is it?" Y/n asked, hoping that he wasn't going to get scammed.

"How about ... $150,000, that seems reasonable, especially since its already furnished." The Mayor said, straightening his suit as he stood up from the desk.

"Well ... its better than nothing, I'll take it. You already have most of my money so that shouldn't be a problem." He said, walking up to the Mayor to shake his hand.

The two shook hands, completing the transaction. "Here, I have the deed and keys to the lighthouse in my desk ... don't be alarmed if Ronaldo is there ... I've allowed him to be the lighthouse keeper since no one would buy it ... till now of course." Mayor Dewey searched around the drawer in his desk, it took him a few moments to pull out the deed and the spare keys.
