Y/n slowly opened his eyes, but was unable to see as he was blinded by blue. Lifting himself up he realised that he fell asleep ... On Lapis' chest. Y/n blushed, sitting up so he could compose himself.
"Peridot?" Y/n asked, looking around to see if she was anywhere, but alas, she was nowhere to be found.
Y/n stood up and stretched, deciding to turn his attention back to Lapis. "Wakey, wakey ..." He said, poking at her nose.
Lapis sniffed, wiggling her nose about as she opened her eyes to see Y/n. "Oh! Y/n! Did I ... Fall asleep?" She asked, sitting up with a visible blush on her face.
"Yeah, but I did too don't worry." Y/n told, scratching his cheek. "I fell asleep on your chest ... Sorry ..."
"No, no ... It's okay!" Lapis said, quick to reassure the human. "Humans need their sleep."
"I guess we do ..." Y/n trailed off, still blushing slightly. "But, did you want anything to eat? I was thinking of making some breakfast."
Lapis pondered for a moment before she stood up. "How about I make some food for us?" She said with a smile, gracefully flying up into the air before landing down in the kitchen.
"You sure? I didn't know you could cook." Y/n admitted as he sat against the sofa to observe. "No offense."
"None taken!" She responded with a smile. "I decided to watch a few cooking TV shows, and it wasn't too difficult ... But then again, I don't know how to cook many things."
"I'm sure whatever you make will be delicious." Y/n reassured as Lapis started by putting some bread in the toaster. She then took out some eggs from the fridge, and cracked them, putting them into a bowl to make some scrambled egg.
Y/n was actually impressed by how she was getting along. After a few minutes, she plated up two plates full of scrambled eggs on toast. "Woah! That looks amazing!" Y/n commented as he walked up to the table, taking a seat.
"Heh ... Thanks." Lapis blushed, placing a plate down in front of Y/n before placing one for her. "Hopefully you like it ..."
Y/n began to eat. "This is really good!" He said, amazed at her sudden ability to cook as he had never seen her even attempt it. "Why do you always impress me?"
Lapis blushed before snorting at his complement. "It's not that good ..." She told, eating some of the food she prepared. Stars appeared in her eyes as she swallowed. "Okay ... Maybe it is that good ..."
Y/n laughed. "It's great, honestly." He smiled, taking another bite. "It's a shame you didn't ask me to help you, I would've gladly taught you some stuff."
Lapis hummed. "I wanted to surprise you ..." She admitted, poking at the scrambled egg. "You've done so much for me, but I haven't done anything in return!"
"Lapis, it's okay!" Y/n reassured. "You just being here means a lot to me!"
"You ... Mean that?" She asked, blushing, but with a hopeful look on her face.
"Of course, I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true." Y/n nodded. "I'm glad you and Peridot live here with me, it's better than living alone."
Lapis giggled slightly before eating some more of the breakfast she prepared. "I'm glad you took me in ... I don't know what I would've done if ..." She shuddered, not wanting to think about anything to do with the mirror, Homeworld, Jasper, or Malachite.
"It's okay." Y/n reassured, stopping her from continuing. "It would've been difficult, but I'm certain you would've been fine either way."
Lapis thought for a moment. "What about you?" She said quietly, remembering what he had told her. "Are you ... Okay?"
