Y/n sat at the back of his van, fiddling with a tool kit as he needed to fix what damage was done due to the fight with Lapis. Thankfully, the side of the van was mainly dented, but he came prepared with tools just in case any parts needed repairing.
"Alright, this shouldn't be too hard." Y/n mumbled, standing inside the van, and using his robotic arm to push the dented metal back in place, luckily, it worked, returning most of the metal back to normal.
There were still paint scratches, and other, less visible dents, but Y/n figured that could be sorted out another day.
"Not bad ... Not bad at all." Y/n chuckled at his handy work, and decided to head back up the hill, and into the lighthouse.
When he reached the main room, he found Pair working on some sort of schematic. "Pair, what're you working on?" He asked, sitting on the sofa, next to the small droid.
Pair beeped, explaining that he had scanned Y/n armour, trying to find out ways to bolster its defensive, and offensive capabilities. The armour was pretty high tech as it is, making it difficult to upgrade even further, especially considering their circumstances.
Pair instead was developing another weapon for Y/n to use, this time it was taking the shape of an SMG, using 9mm rounds. This would be helpful as it'd give him a higher rate of fire, and could switch to it when it was deemed necessary.
"I like it, we can start testing the different weapons, and see how effective they'll be." Y/n nodded, commending the small robot.
Pair beeped, stopping the hologram, and sharing his opinions on the weapons.
"Yeah, you're right, it seems that basically all forms of ballistic weaponry is super effective against corrupted gems, and maybe even regular gems ..." Y/n thought, going over the strength of the corrupted gems in his head.
"So, what do we know about gems so far?" Y/n asked Pair, causing the droid to pull up another hologram, but this time it's a file on everything that Y/n, and him know.
Y/n looked through the files, it was pretty standard stuff, humanoid form, magic weapons, the whole shebang. Once Y/n fully got to know the gems, which probably won't be for a while, he wants to run various tests on them, citing magic for their abilities annoys him.
"Good, everything we know is here, I'm sure we can pick up other things the longer we're here." Y/n told.
A silence fell over the two as the final part of what he said dawned on him, Y/n completely forgot about being stuck in this timeline, he rubbed his eyes, wondering if there is a chance he could get back. Would he want to get back? Is the main question that spins around within his mind.
Pair beeps, noticing Y/n's change in mood, asking what's wrong.
"Just wondering if we'll ever get back to our timeline ... do we want to go back to our timeline?" He asked Pair, who didn't respond straight away, rather he pondered the question as well.
Pair soon beeped, responding to Y/n question, giving a surprising answer.
"You really want to stay? I mean, I understand why, but we won't be working with any high-tech equipment for a long, long time." Y/n stated, making sure Pair knew.
Even though Pair was an artificial intelligence, he had thoughts, and feelings. He beeped his response, arguing his point.
"Yeah, I can't argue that this humanity seems much more peaceful ... I could live here, but the thought of leaving everything, and everyone behind ..." Y/n choked up, this being the first time Pair saw him become emotional.
