If I Had to Choose

Backstory: Y/N's life hadn't always been the best. Her classmates always saw her as an outcast. Her family didn't pay very much attention to her when they deemed it unnecessary. She thought nothing in her life would ever change, until she met a purple-clad turtle and his family. From then on, Y/N's life got a little bit brighter. Even more so when Donnie asked her to be his girlfriend a year after meeting one another, she of course said yes. She felt so grateful to have him in her life, and tonight she would prove just how grateful she was.

It's been 6 months since Y/N and Donnie's relationship began. They're very happy together, but Donnie can't help but overthink things as he second guessed himself. His brothers had always teased him and made him feel like the black sheep of the family, so although he made it seem like quite the opposite, his self confidence wasn't always at its highest. So when he met Y/N, he thought she had been some sort of mirage or one of his fantasies brought to life. He couldn't believe someone like her would want to be friends with, let alone the girlfriend of, someone like him. But when she had agreed to go to the next level of their relationship, he couldn't help but feel grateful. For him, Y/N's participation in his life was a dream come true.

As the brothers sat in the living room having yet another Lou Jitsu/Jupiter Jim movie marathon, Mikey's T-Phone dinged with a notification. As he went to check it, he called his brothers over once he had seen what it was.

Mikey: "Guys, email from April. It's about Y/N."

At that, the others, especially Donnie, leaped behind Mikey to see what April had to say that involved Y/N.

Hey guys,

Great news: Y/N's performing at a karaoke cafe tonight!! She doesn't know that I'm telling you this but, I think it would mean a lot to her if you came in your human disguises to support her. It's at Central Nervosa, be there or be a Baron. Draxum. You get the point, hope to see you there. Love ya <3!

P.S. Donnie, be sure to thank Dr. Feelings for this, you'll see why.

Mikey: "Guys we have to go, for Y/N's sake, and also I've never been to a karaoke cafe! Leo, you're our leader now. Can we go, please, please, pretty please?"

Mikey dons a puppy dog pout.

Leo: "I don't see why not, you coming D?"

Leo dons a sly smile, knowing he didn't even have to ask.

Donnie: "She's my girlfriend, of course I'd come to support her. But what does April mean when she says 'Be sure to thank Dr. Feelings for this'? Mikey, what did you do and why am I to thank you for it?"

Donnie turned to his youngest brother with a confused look.

Mikey replied with a nervous laugh.

Mikey: "Well, I may have told Y/N about you second guessing yourself, and how you could really use some support, not just from us-"

Mikey sent a glare at his brother in blue for having the gall to tease his brother at all before continuing.

Mikey: "But from her as well."

Before Donnie could react to Mikey's explanation, Raph put a hand on his shoulder.

Raph: "Donnie, before you say or do anything, don't be mad at Mikey. He was just trying to look out for you, and I'm sure whatever Y/N has in mind for tonight, I'm sure she doesn't feel obligated to do so. You know she'd do whatever she had to if it meant keeping you happy. Shouldn't you know that by now since she agreed to go out with you?"
