"Hey Bokuto! Hurry up!" Kuroo shouted, holding two cardboard boxes stacked in his arms. The car door slammed shut and a grumbling Bokuto emerging.
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Kuroo chuckled, shaking his head as he walked into the apartment building.
Earlier that year, Kuroo, Kenma, Akaashi, and Bokuto all realized it would be easy for them if they lived together. So pooling their earnings, they started renting a small apartment just off campus, with two queen-sized rooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a bathroom.
Kuroo had been looking forward to spending more time with Kenma, now that he went to university and picked the same one as Kuroo and Bokuto. Akaashi had done the same, so it was only natural the four decided to move in together.
"Where should I put this?" Akaashi asked, drawing Kuroo's attention to the poorly wrapped box in his hand.
"Ah, that's probably Kenma's. I'll take it." Kuroo walked over and lifted the box from Akaashi's tired arms, his hands brushing against the others. Neither reacted to the brief contact as Kuroo spun around and walked up the steps.
"Kitten~!" Kuroo called out, searching for Kenma.
"Don't call me that," someone mumbled. Kenma was right behind him, yawning. The drive was long and Kenma had fallen asleep in the backseat. He had a backpack slung over his shoulder and he was wearing his Nekoma sweats.
"Do you want me to unpack your things?" He asked, setting down the box and caressing Kenma's cheek. The ex-setter blushed slightly, looking down.
"No," he replied softly. "I can do it." Kuroo smiled, then shrugged.
"Okay. I'm gonna go help Bokuto bring in the rest of the stuff. Akaashi said he's gonna make Yakitori." Kenma nodded, disappearing into the room.
Kuroo hurried down the stairs, only to see Bokuto carrying three large boxes. He looked like he was struggling.
"You idiot," Kuroo said, shaking his head.
"Mean!" Bokuto pouted. Kuroo grabbed the top box, setting it down whilst grunting from the weight.
"Don't take more than you can carry," Kuroo ordered.
"But I wanna hang out with Akaashi," Bokuto complained. Kuroo crossed his arms.
"You can hang out with him later, we need to unload the rest of the car."
The two boys walked to the trunk of the car, carrying the rest of the boxes and bags inside. Kuroo locked the car.
"Thank you for the meal!" Everyone said, digging in.
Kenma had reluctantly put his switch away, poking at his food hesitantly. Kuroo leaned over and took the wooden stick to peel off a small piece of chicken. He gently coaxed some into Kenma's mouth, smiling as the boy slowly chewed his food. Kenma must have realized they weren't alone because he quickly turned red and looked down, grabbing the yakitori and eating it himself. Kuroo grinned as he watched Kenma eat.
"Can we do that?!" Bokuto asked loudly. Akaashi sighed, looking at Bokuto.
"Bokuto-San..."
"Please!" Akaashi gave in, allowing Bokuto to feed him. Kuroo chuckled, taking a bit of his chicken.
"This is really good, Akaashi," Kuroo praised, making the younger one smile.
"Thank you."
Kuroo noticed Kenma had slowed down, tilting the yakitori in his hand as if he were studying it. He leaned down, startling the smaller boy as he whispered,
"Do you want to stop eating?" Kenma shivered a little from Kuroo's hot breaths. He looked up at him, chewing his lip. "Or do you want me to feed you?" He asked. Kenma glanced at Bokuto who was still feeding Akaashi.
"Mm," Kenma hummed, nodding. Kuroo continued to push small morsels past Kenma's lips, kissing the tops of his brown roots to soothe him. Kenma eventually pushed the plate away, meaning he couldn't stomach it anymore.
"Alright, Bokuto help me with the dishes! Kitten, go take a bath," Kuroo ordered.
"I can help-" Akaashi started.
"No, you made dinner, you should relax!" Kuroo declared, clapping Akaashi's back. The boy stumbled, quickly recovering.
"Okay."
"Akaashi take a bath with me!" Bokuto demanded. Akaashi smiled.
"I'll wait, Bokuto-San."
Kuroo started scrubbing the plates.
"Hey Kuroo bro, can I ask you something?" Bokuto wondered.
"Sure," Kuroo replied.
"What's up with Kenma?" Kuroo paused, staring at his hands.
"Nothing," he replied curtly. Bokuto leaned closer, startling Kuroo. He backed up from the owl-like boy, furrowing his brow. "What?" Kuroo asked, leaning away from Bokuto. Bokuto studied Kuroo's face. Kuroo felt his cheeks heat up from the sudden closeness. "Dude??"
"Are you sure?" Bokuto inquired, doubting Kuroo. Kuroo sighed, pushing Bokuto's face away.
"Yes, I'm sure." Bokuto shrugged.
"Okay."
