Kuroo couldn't get Taiki to stop crying.

He wasn't eating, he didn't need a diaper change, and no amount of rocking would soothe him.

"What's going on?" Bokuto asked, walking down the stairs and yawning. Kuroo sighed.

"I—I don't know, he's not eating at all, he's lost so much weight..." Kuroo chewed his lip. Bokuto held out his arms, carefully taking the baby and holding him carefully.

"Hey Taiki, hi. You aren't hungry? You have to eat..." Bokuto slowly bounced back and forth, Taiki's wailing slowly softening. Eventually, the tike fell asleep, and the two relaxed.

"You're so good at this," Kuroo declared.

"You're getting better," Bokuto said. Kuroo shook his head.

"We should take him to a hospital, se did they can tell how to get him to eat again," Kuroo suggested. Bokuto nodded in agreement.

"Go get Kenma, you need some more sleep," Bokuto advised.

"I can come—"

"Kuro, you've been up for three days straight. Get some rest, look after Akaashi. Kenma and I can do it, don't worry," Bokuto promised. Kuroo rubbed his chin and gave in. "Go, go back to bed," Bokuto said.

Kuroo walked up the stairs and found Akaashi and Kenma fast asleep. He gently nudged Kenma awake, speaking softly while the cat-like man yawned. He stood up, trudging over to the bathroom and getting ready, while Kuroo laid next to Akaashi and held him close. He needed to hold something.

Akaashi turned in his sleep, hugging Kuroo with his arms around his waist and his hands on the back of his shoulders. He buried his face in Kuroo's chest, murmuring a bit but still fast asleep. Kuroo closed his eyes and sighed.

All he could think about was Taiki.

At some point Kenma and Bokuto left, and Akemi was still in her crib, quiet despite her brother's absence.

"Bo?" Akaashi mumbled, his eyes opening slowly.

"Kuro," Kuroo corrected, making Akaashi face down. "How are you feeling?" He asked gently.

"Cold," Akaashi answered. Kuroo pulled the covers over them, feeling an instant wave of exhaustion hit him. He hugged Akaashi and sighed, nuzzling his soft dark hair. "What's wrong?" Akaashi wondered softly. Kuroo was quiet.

"I feel like I'm bad at this..." Kuroo mumbled.

"At what?"

"Parenting."

Akaashi furrowed his brow.

"Why?" He wondered. Kuroo ran his fingers through his lover's hair, his lips pressed into a thin line as he thought.

"They always cry with me. Bokuto can calm them down so easily, and they fall right asleep in Kenma's arms. They giggle with you play with them... so why can't I figure it out?" Kuroo sighed.

"What?" Akaashi said. "Kuro, you just pick them up when they're exhausted or need something. If you came in when I was taking care of them, they would love being around you too. You can't expect it to be perfect every time." Akaashi nuzzled Kuroo's chest. "Besides, I know you'll be a great dad for them to look up to."
