Sorry abt typos :')

Kuroo had received an urgent phone call nearing the end of his two-week honeymoon. At first he had declined, since he was taking vacation time and didn't technically have to work. But, as the calls grew more persistent he finally picked up. As it turned out, a new position was available. Kuro was getting a promotion. However, he had to return to the office by next week, which was when Akaashi's surgery had been scheduled. If he was to accept he would have to miss it. He wouldn't be able to visit him immediately like the four had discussed.

He had spoken to the other three about the offer and even Akaashi seemed elated by the idea. However, he didn't get a chance to tell them he wouldn't be able to stay with Akaashi that day, which was a much more important detail.

Kuroo walked down the steps and waded into the spring, He sighed as he sank into the hot water, steam rising around him. He heard the water slosh and saw Bokuto swim over to him with Kenma on his shoulders.

"Aren't you cold?" Kuroo questioned with a grin. Kenma shrugged and tugged at Bokuto's hair, making the man wince before he set Kenma down. "Where's Keiji?" He asked, trying to peer through the mist.

"He's still inside, said he wanted to plan a quick trip to the ocean before surgery when we get back," Kenma murmured, sitting in Kuroo's lap while playing with his hands.

"The ocean?" Kuroo repeated. "Since when has that been his thing?" He wondered. Bokuto shrugged. Kenma shifted in Kuroo's lap and turned, wrapping his arms around his waist and resting his cheek against Kuroo's bare chest. Kuroo hummed happily and rubbed Kenma's thighs while he leaned back. The three were flushed from the heat, huddled together, and sweating.

Bokuto closed his eyes and rested against Kuroo's shoulders.

"The water smells so nice," he mumbled, making Kuroo smile. Kuroo kissed the top of Bokuto's head and looked over him, starting at the wooden walls. Kenma squirmed a bit, his breaths soft and slow.

"Hey, Kitten?" Kuroo whispered. Kenma didn't reply, his eyes shut. Kuroo rubbed Kenma's back and tapped Bokuto. Bokuto groaned a bit then glanced up. "Kenma's asleep, I'm going to put him to bed," Kuroo explained. Bokuto looked at Kenma and reached up, his wet hand spraying warm droplets of water onto Kuroo's chin. Bokuto rubbed Kenma's cheek.

"'Kay," he finally replied, making room for Kuroo to stand.

The water rippled when Kuroo stepped out, and Bokuto quickly followed, the two grabbing their towels and wrapping up Kenma.

Akaashi was sitting in bed with the covers over his legs, holding a book and reading without his glasses. Kuroo carefully set Kenma onto the foot of the bed and rubbed his damp limbs gently with the soft towel. Kenma mumbled a bit in his sleep, but Kuroo was tender enough to avoid rousing him.

Kuroo grabbed a T-shirt and pulled it over Kenma's head. He helped him into a pair of sweats then lifted him bridal-style and placed him under the blanket. He ran his hand under Kenma's hair so he could kiss his forehead before whispering a quiet,

"Good night."

He then walked over to Akaashi and kiss his jaw.

"I'm going to change real quick then finish some work. Get some rest," he said, place a hand on Akaashi's knee before leaving to change.

Kuroo watched Bokuto open the fridge as he looked for dinner.
