Spoilers for Chapters 26-28

I want to share three songs that give me RRFF-vibes!

(Also, psst, on the actual RRFF book, I posted a pretty important Author's Note/Content Warning update. Please check it out.)

Song #1: "Forest Fires" by Lauren Aquilina

🎶🎶🎶

And whilst I watch in silence, you're starting forest fires

You start them just to feel the heat

And whilst I keep my quiet, you're running with the tigers

You're running just to run from me

🎶🎶🎶

Commentary: I'm pretty sure that this song is about social anxiety, so this song can resonate with Memory. But this song also makes me imagine Memory helplessly watching Illusion/Reality make all the wrong decisions, or Illusion/Reality helplessly watching Memory doing bad things :(

Song #2: "Always Gold" by Radical Face

🎶🎶🎶

And I was there when you grew restless

Left in the dead of night

And I was there when three months later

You were standing in the door all beat and tired

And I stepped aside

🎶🎶🎶

All my life

I've never known where you've been

There were holes in you

The kind that I could not mend

And I heard you say

Right when you left that day

Does everything go away?

Yeah, everything goes away.

But I'm going to be here till forever

So just call when you're around.

🎶🎶🎶

Commentary: If you've been involved in fandoms for a very long time, you've probably heard of this song before, since I see this song associated with so many BroTPs and favorite sibling pairs in several fandoms; it's all for good reasons because this song is just an S-tier sibling song.

Well, in RRFF's case, it describes the sweet relationship between the two main cousins ;-; Listening to this on repeat inspired me and helped me get the feel of certain scenes, like the scenes from Chapter 16.

I also like to imagine this song playing in a scenario that happens years after RRFF's main storyline, where one of the cousins is just looking at a pretty sunset, thinking about the good and bad times in RRFF, laughing about the old times, and realizing how much he appreciates his cousin. ...An un-remorseful recollection of an un-forgotten family, if you will.

Also, supportive wholesome big cousin Memory ftw

Song #3: "Fears" by CG5 (ft. DAGames)

Content warning: Unfortunately, I will not link the YouTube video to this song because:

- The YouTube video's thumbnail contains an image of a scary/bloody Murder Monkey from the game "Dark Deception."

- When you play the video, there will be two jumpscares at 1:45-1:48 and 2:40-2:44. If you don't want to see the jumpscares, look away from the video at those selected times, or just read the lyrics from the description of the video. (Jumpscares have no sound effects, so you won't notice them if you look away from the video)

So if you want to listen to the song, look it up on YouTube yourself and you'll find it. Be wary of the stuff I mentioned in the content warning if it makes you uncomfortable.

🎶🎶🎶

All the things I've done

I carry with regret

Intentions laid to waste

Is there any way to forget?

🎶🎶🎶

Elevator goes up,

But I don't really know what's up

Human spirits scattered through these halls

I will see this through

'Cuz there's nothing else that I can do

🎶🎶🎶

Commentary: This song was sent to me by a close friend, so a huge shoutout to my friend because *inhale* I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH

This entire song just oozes with Memory-vibes and it fits so well with him, especially with what I have planned for him in the upcoming chapters.

It was incredibly challenging to figure out which lyrics to highlight, because the song is that fitting. Ultimately, I chose to highlight the verse above because it matches a lot with Memory's current quest to bring Void back and erase Sabre's world's memories.

I can imagine this song playing during Chapters 27, 28 and 30 8)

That's all for now. Thank you for reading my ramble about music. Take care.
