asdfasdfasdf, it's the 2 year anniversary of Memory Steve's debut in the Steve Saga! Memory really fascinated me the moment I saw him. His powers and how Sabre and Rainbow had to deal with him was unique.
I was pretty sad that he ended up not being used much in the story. Like, I had a HUGE theory that Memory would be the big villain of Steve Saga Origins, because I thought Sabre would do more with him.
(Full explanation of the theory: I had a feeling that SSO and TSS were gonna parallel each others' episodes. When TSS showed the return of Nightmare in the Nightmare dimension and the black hole, SSO showed Nightmare at his worse. When TSS showed the brief return of Blue Steve, SSO also showed the return of Blue Steve. And that whole thing with the Yellow King happened too*. I thought this would end full circle with TSS defeating Memory Steve, and SSO concluding with Memory Steve as the final villain who defeats Rainbow Steve and erases his memories. But naaaaaaaah, SSO went on AFTER Memory's defeat in TSS, and it turned out Hypno was the one who indirectly erased Rainbow's memories. Memory didn't show up at all in SSO
*I don't remember the exact dates of TSS and SSO episodes. I could be TOTALLY wrong about the episodes paralleling each other, and my brain might be making stuff up XD)
Anyways, I was sad that Memory wasn't used much. I thought he had so much potential.
And now here I am, almost a year later, writing a fanfic where he's the main character, where I'm trying to unlock the hidden potential of his character XD I had a lot of fun borrowing this character from canon and doing a lot of cool stuff with him in my AU. I love this boi.
