If I Can't Be With You (A Rydellington Love Story)

Chapter 27: Romance & Frustration

Ellington POV

It's been three days since Rydel, Rosie, Alexa, and Riker ended up in the hospital. Today they were finally getting checked out. And.... I have been planning something really romantic for Rydel.

"Hey Rock.." I say walking into Alexa's hospital room where he was laying by Alexa holding her hand. I guess they got back together.

"Yeppo?" He looks at me.

"Can you watch Rosie for at least until like eight tonight?" I ask. He nods which I expected him to say so.

I walk down the long hallway and into Rosie's hospital room to where she was looking outside the window. I sit beside her and she lays against my chest. I enjoyed spending time with Rosie. "Daddy I can't wait to leave here."

"Agreed." I say.

Since our apartment burned down, my mom decided to let us stay with her. Everybody knows that I'm a momma's boy. My mom is my best friend and has always been. Besides Rydel of course.

After after a hour with Rosie passes, it was time to let everybody get ready to leave. Which, I told Ross to take Rydel to my mom's when they leave. So I go out and get in my jeep which was not at the house at the time because I left it at my mom's. Chubbs (Rydel's Car) on the other hand was at the house.

I drove to my mom's and walked in into Buddy and Luna barking and running up to me. I pet both of them and squeeze both of them into a hug. I missed my dogs so much. I looked up to see my mom and dad walk in and smile at me.

"Ellington!" My mom exclaims putting her arms out and hugs me and I hug her back. "I'm so glad you're okay. How's Rydel?" I do a thumbs up and my mom sighs of relief.

"Ell-" My dad began but I hugged him and he laughed and hugged me tightly.

"Missed you both so much." I smile and we all do a family group hug (including Buddy and Luna between our feet space).

My mom and dad knew why I was back early so they decided to leave to go to Stormie and Mark's to catch up on everything.

So I get some candles and rose petals. I walk to my old bedroom and light some candles. Then, I lay down some rose petals from the entrance all the way to my bedroom. I then get my Bluetooth speaker that's green and get on Spotify and play Rydel's lovey Dover stuff.

As soon as I was all set; Ross pulls in Rocky's Jeep with Rydel. I think then get some robes for after some romantic sensations with Rydel. I put on some cologne and sit on the bed and wait.

Rydel POV

"Do you know why Ellington didn't take me home?" I ask looking at Ross and he shrugs. "Okay bye Rossy Shor." I smile and hug him then get out of the car.

I walk in and I automatically smile. There's a trail of rose petals and I can hear "Give Into Me" playing. I walk down the hall into Ellington's room. There sat Ellington grinning with his ornery smirk.

"What are you doing?" I ask him looking around. He stands and puts his hands on my waist and kisses my forehead.

"I'm making it up to you." His lips move on my forehead making me blush lightly. "Rydel... I love you so much." He kisses my lips. I smile and put my arms around his neck and the kiss turns intense and our tongues glide by each other.

Suddenly, his phone buzzes with a text. I look at him and he hesitates for a minute then leans in to kiss me again but I put a finger to his lips. "Ell... Who just texted you?"

"Nobody." He says quickly. I back away and bite my lip looking at him. I know when he's lying. There he was lying to my face.

Ellington puts his hands on my cheeks and kisses me. I let him but I don't kiss back. I'm tired of secrets. "Ellington.." I say taking a step behind. "Please tell me. I won't be mad unless you do not tell me. We are married. We can tell each other anything."

Ellington says nothing. I feel the tears coming into my eyes. I take his phone and unlock it and open the text. It was from Kelly. I sit his phone down and walk out of the bedroom.

"Rydel-" Ellington began.

"How long have you been texting her?" I ask. He stares at me. "How long?" I repeat. Ellington bites his lip. I burst into tears. "You know how I felt! You did it anyway! You're suppose to not save secrets! I don't have any secrets you don't know about!" I storm off and Ellington grabs my waist making me get goosebumps.

"Rydel calm down and listen to me." He whispers in a soothing tune. I sigh and turn to him, his hands still around my waist.

"I don't want us to be like this. I don't want to keep fighting. I mean I love you but... I don't like how we are with each other." I say quietly and he nods.

There was silence. I looked at him to see he was thinking.

"Maybe... Maybe we should take a break." Ellington finally says.
