If I Can't Be With You (A Rydellington Love Story)

Chapter 19: Panic Attack

Ellington POV

"Shut up shut up!" Rydel says covering her ears from Rocky and Riker teasing her about her jumping on a guy who looked like the guy from Neon Trees. Oh Rydel.....

"At least you weren't screaming "I LOVE YOUR MUSIC CAN I HUG YOU?!" Oh wait you were!" Rocky says laughing making everybody laugh also. Rydel just sat there not saying a word.

We were all sitting in the car, well crowded up in the car. Riker was driving, Rydel in the passenger seat, while Rocky,Ross,Ryland,Rosie, and I sat in the back. Well, Rosie loves Rocky so she is sitting in his lap and playing Crossy Roads. Ryland is squished between me and Ross so its good that none of us are claustrophobic.

"Daddy,Mommy, can I go with Uncles?" Rosie asks. Lately, she has been referring all of Rydel's brothers in one sentence Uncles, which in my opinion, is a lot easier.

"Don't ask them you already know the answer cause you wanna hang with your favorite uncle, aka me." Rocky smiles and tickles her which makes her giggle. Her giggle automatically brings a smile to Rydel's face and mine.

Rosie is a spitting image of Rydel. Her eyes. Her hair. Her smile. All of her reminds me of Rydel.

When we arrive, Ryland pushes me out of the car and breathes. "FINALLY I CAN MOVE AGAIN!" Which makes me roll my eyes playfully.

"Can you guys please come inside? I never see you guys anymore!" Rydel whines at her brothers. They smile and all start to get out.

Rosie pulls Rocky's hand running inside excitedly. If Rosie could choose favorites, I think it'd be Rocky.

Everybody goes in and almost everybody sits in the living room. Rydel goes to the bathroom in a hurry, Rosie and Rocky go to her room, well I sit in the living room with Ross, Ryland, and Riker. We all watch the Packers play which ROCKS! If only I had my cheese head....

Rydel POV

I am okay. I am okay. I hate this feeling. I haven't had this feeling since.... Since I first moved to California.

Flashback

I run up to my room and shut the door shaking nervously. I feel so hot and sweaty and like the walls are closing in on me. THE WALLS ARE CLOSING IN ON ME!

I start screaming and I sit curled up in a ball rocking back and forth. Mom and Daddy rush in and start asking what is wrong but I can't say anything. I start crying and the next thing I know Riker runs in and hugs me tightly rubbing my back saying "Its gonna be okay" over and over again.

Suddenly, I stop and Riker holds me tightly letting me calm down over what just happened.

Flashback ends

I lean against the door hugging myself. Don't scream. Don't scream. I'm Rydel Mary Lynch-Ratliff. I'm 21. I have a daughter named Rosie. I say quietly to myself over and over again.

Suddenly, a knock on the door causes me to shake again getting tears in my eyes.

"Rydel are you okay?" I hear Ross's voice ask. I stand up then I start crying shaking and screaming.

The door bursts open and Ellington rushes in and hugs me. Some reason, this makes me cry harder.

"It's happening again." Riker says quietly and pulls Ellington away from me and hugs me tightly.

"What is happening again?" Ellington asks clueless. Ross,Ryland, and Rocky look at each other. Rosie looks terrified. Then my brothers look at Riker then he nods.

They take Ellington away from me. I start screaming louder into Riker's shoulder. Rosie walks over and rubs my back.

"It's okay mommy. You're gonna be okay." Rosie says suddenly making my shaking slow down. Suddenly, I scream again. This time I find myself screaming Ellington's name.

Ellington POV

Ross and Ryland block the hallway from me and Rocky runs and get Rosie which makes Rydel scream harder. "Ellington! Ellington! Elllllinnnngggttttoooonnn!" Suddenly, I shove Ross and Ryland away and run to the bathroom where I see Riker hugging Rydel.

When Rydel sees me she pushes herself away from Riker shaking intensively and crying. I sit and pull her close and cuddle her into my arms so tightly. Suddenly, I find myself getting watery eyes. I lift up Rydel's chin until her eyes meet mine.

"Rydel, you are okay. I love you and I will never let anyone or anything hurt you, okay? I love you. I love you. I am so in love with-" I say when Rydel cuts me off by kissing me. I put my arms around her kissing and she slowly stops shaking.

When she pulls away she hugs me so tightly.

"I love you too."
