"I had a thought." Thomas says.

"Oh no." Newt says, looking at him.

"No, I promise it's a good one this time!" Thomas says.

"It's never a good one!" Newt says. "It is never a good thought! You don't have good thoughts!"

"I have good thoughts sometimes!" Thomas defends.

"No!" Newt says. "You really do not!"

Thomas chuckles. "Yeah, you're kind of right."

"I know." Newt says. "You really do not have good thoughts."

"Maybe I'll just shut up." Thomas says.

"Hey!" Newt says. "You did have a good thought!"

Thomas laughs. "I guess so."

"You might want to listen to the idea, love." Newt says.

"Right." Thomas says. He kisses him. "Is that better?"

"Yeah, good job." Newt says and he kisses him again.

Later, Newt walks into Thomas's room. He jumps.

"Jesus, you scared me!" Thomas says, standing up and walking over to him.

"Yeah, well, I'm naturally terrifying." Newt responds, kissing him quickly.

"You're naturally terrifying?" Thomas says. "Is that right?"

Newt nods. "Yep. That's right."

"Okay, sure." Thomas says. "Believe what you want."

Newt laughs. "You know I will."

Thomas kisses his forehead. "I do."

Newt hugs him. "Sorry for scaring you."

Thomas chuckles. "It's a great way to be scared. You're so cute."

"Maybe I'm a baby ghost." Newt says.

Thomas laughs. "You know, that would actually be pretty terrifying."

"Yeah, you're probably right." Newt says. "Especially if-"

"Okay, let's stop while we're ahead." Thomas says.

Newt laughs. "Right. Sorry."

The next day at school, Newt leans against Thomas's locker, waiting for him. Thomas walks over.

"Hey, Tommy!" Newt says.

"Hey." Thomas says, kissing him.

"Guess what?" Newt says.

"What?" Thomas says.

"Teresa looked super upset today." Newt says happily. "And I didn't even have anything to do with it!"

"Well, good job." Thomas says. "But you should be less happy about someone else's suffering."

"She's barely a person, Tommy!" Newt retorts.

Thomas chuckles. "Okay. Fair enough."

"She sucks." Newt says.

"I agreed with you." Thomas says.

"Oh, yeah." Newt says. "Sorry. I got distracted."

"Mmm. I can tell." Thomas says, leaning against the locker too.

"I might hate her a little too much, huh?" Newt says, grinning slightly.

"Maybe just a little bit." Thomas says.
