Forty Seven

"Tommy!" Newt says, running over to him. 

He jumps into Thomas's arms. Thomas stumbles back slightly, but wraps his arms around him. Newt kisses him, tangling his hands in his hair. Thomas pulls away slightly.

"As much as I'm enjoying this," Thomas says. "What is happening?" 

"I missed you." Newt says.

"It has been 12 hours and we were both asleep." Thomas says. 

"Doesn't matter." He says, kissing him again. "I still missed you." 

Thomas rests his hands on his hips. "Yeah, well, I suppose I missed you too."

"Yeah, I thought so." Newt says and kisses him again. 

Thomas pulls away. "Okay, we're kind of in the middle of the road."

"We're on the sidewalk." Newt says. 

"We're still in public." Thomas says. 

"Then let's go not in public." Newt says, taking his hand. 

Thomas looks at him but doesn't say anything, letting him take him into his house. Newt drags him up the stairs to his room. He turns around and kisses him, shutting the door.

"Okay, I'm not complaining or anything, definitely not complaining, but genuinely why?" Thomas says. 

"Why what?" Newt asks, leaning against him, playing with the hem of his shirt. "I can kiss you. You're my boyfriend."

"Yes, that's not-" Thomas says. He stops, sighing. "You don't normally just randomly make out with me."

"I mean..." Newt says. 

"Well, yeah, okay," Thomas says. "But you're just like..." Thomas trails off, waving a hand at him. 

"Don't like it, Tommy?" Newt says, smirking.  

"I didn't say-" Thomas starts. "Nope. I'm just...I'm just gonna..."

"Awe, Tommy, don't go." Newt says. "Please?" He looks at Thomas, sticking out his bottom lip.

"That's not-" Thomas says. "That's not fair. You can't make that face. That's cheating. That's...that's..."

"It's what, Tommy?" Newt asks, tilting his head. 

"Uh-I-it's-you-you're-it's not-" He stammers. Newt kisses him, shutting him up. Thomas exhales softly. "Seriously though, why?"

"I have my reasons." Newt says. "Will you believe me or do you need me to list it out?"

"I'll-I'll believe you." He says, turning red. 

Newt smirks. "Yeah. That's what I thought." And he kisses him again. 

Later, while Newt and Thomas sit on Thomas's bed, Newt's phone rings. 

"Oh, it's Minho!" He says happily. He picks up his phone and turns it on speaker. "Hey, it's Newt and Thomas."

"Yeah, I know." Minho says. "I called you." 

"Right." Newt says. "Speaking of, why'd you call?"

"It's about Aris." He says.

Newt immediately sits up straighter. "I'm listening."

"Well..." Minho says. "Yes."

"I don't-What does that mean?" Newt says. "I didn't ask anything."

Minho sighs and Newt can practically hear him roll his eyes. "You are an idiot."

"I am?" Newt says, genuinely confused. 

"Thomas." Minho says. 

Thomas laughs. "You should know I'm no less naive."

"Right, of course." Minho says. "I'll leave that for you to decode. But...yes."

"What does yes mean?" Newt asks, squirming in his seat. "Tell meeeeeee." 

Minho lets out an annoyed breath of air. "If you don't have two brain cells, that's not my fault."

"Actually, I have three." Newt says. 

"Well, then use them!" Minho says. "Because I refuse to clarify!" 

He hangs up without so much as a goodbye. 

"Well, that was rude." Newt says to Thomas, scowling.

Thomas chuckles. "That's just Minho's way of talking to us. Even if neither one of us understood."

Newt shrugs. "This is reason number three billion I'd rather talk to you."

"But you always tell me to shut up." Thomas says.

"Well, that's when you're being a bloody idiot." Newt says. "Because you are. A lot of the time."

Thomas leans forward and kisses him. "So sorry."

"You should be." Newt says but he kisses him back. "You think Aris'd tell us?"

"Aris doesn't even know us, really." Thomas says. "So no. I don't think so."

Newt frowns. "I wanna know."

"Maybe Minho'll tell us one day." Thomas says. "Or we'll decode it by then."

Newt laughs softly. "Yeah...Maybe..."
