At the same hour, a man was reading the file of the prime suspects in a munitions robbery. Which involved Arthur Shelby and Thomas Shelby. The moment that train stopped and Chief Inspector Campbell got off the wagon, the air in Birmingham changed. It got darker, as if Mother Nature herself could sense the evil in his soul. while the Shelby family was holding a family meeting on the other side of Birmingham.

"I've called this family meeting because I've got some very important news. Scud Boat and Love Lock got back from Belfast last night. They were buying a stallion to cover their mares. They were in a pub on Shank Hill Road yesterday, and in that pub, there was a copper handing out these." Arthur explained in the betting room while handing out flyers. Giving the first one to Ada, which her brother John took out of her hands.

John reads out loud, 'If you're over 5 feet and can fight, come to Birmingham." Arthur continues, "They're recruiting Protestant Irishmen to come over here as Specials." Ada asks, "To do what?" Tommy answers anoidly, as if the answer is obvious: "To clean up the city, Ada."

"He's the chief inspector. For the last four years, he's been clearing the IRA out of Belfast." Tommy continues. "How do you know so bloody much?" The oldest brother asks with a questioning look in his eyes. "Because I asked the coppers on our payroll." Tommy answers, ignoring the thick tension Arthur is creating in the room.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Arthur asks. "I'm telling you." Tommy answers while looking up at his brother for the first time since the start of the family meeting.

"Why send him to Birmingham?" Aunt Polly broke the silence. "There's been all these bloody strikes at the BSA and the Austin works lately. Now the papers are talking about sedition. And revolution. I reckon it's communists he's after." Tommy answers honestly.

"So this copper is going to leave us alone, right?" Pol questions while looking around at the other Shelbys in the room. "There are Irishmen in Green Lanes who left Belfast to get away from him. Catholic men who crossed him used to disappear in the night." Tommy explains without really giving an answer.

"Yeah, but we ain't the IRA. We bloody fought for the king. Anyway, we're Peaky Blinders; we're not scared of coppers." John speaks up. "He's right." Arthur Mumbels.
"If they come for us, we'll cut them a smile each." John keeps going with a grin on his face. "So, Arthur, is that it?" Tommy asks, not minding whatever his brothers are talking about. "What do you think, Aunt Pol?" Arthur asks his aunt.

"This family does everything openly. You have nothing more to say to this meeting, Thomas?" Polly looks up at him, knowing he's truly the one who will make a decision at the end of the day. "No, nothing that's women's business." Tommy replies while putting his cigarrette in his mouth and letting the cold air back out.

"This whole bloody enterprise was women's business while you boys were away at war." Pol states not backing down from a fight. She stands up and walks up to him. She pulls his cigarette back out of his mouth and throws it in the fireplace. "What's changed?" She asks. "We came back." He answers before turning around and leaving the room to get back to work.

The Shelby family has always worked together as a unit. When you see one, there is always another one in the vicinity. That's something that can inspire a lot of people, but in their case, it frightens them.

Aunt Polly is a strong woman with her own will and opinions. She practically raised all of her sister's children as if they were her own. Which gives her the power to know them as if it were she who created them. She might be the only woman to be able to somewhat understand what goes on in Tommy's mind. That's why she asked to meet with him in private that evening at a church. Tommy makes his way up to her and sits down next to her with a sigh. "I have 10 minutes. What do you want?" He questions. After a long silence, she turns around and whispers, "An explanation."

"I've always been able to tell when you're hiding something. People talk, and rumors have been going around about detectives who've been asking questions. Nothing happens in that factory without you knowing about it." She explains before turning back around to look at the big cross in front of her."Speak" She insists.
"God and Aunt Polly are listening."

Tommy sighs and goes on explaining what happened. He tells her that his men stole the wrong crate and dropped it off at Charlie Strong's yard. Inside that crate were 25 Lewis machine guns, 10,000 rounds of ammunition, semi-automatic rifles, and 200 pistols with shells. With that information, his aunt turns fully back around to him and slaps his right cheek, leaving it slightly red. "You have your mother's common sense, but your father's devilment. I see them fighting. Let your mother win." She speaks before making her way out of the church. Even if she wants to help him, she knows that there is no way on earth that Tommy Shelby would ever accept help from another person.

It was around 8 p.m. when Gia sighed and sat down in front of the dog. She gave her dog the rest of her food, and the dog gladly accepted it. After the dog is finished with her food, she looks up at her owner and stares at her. "Oh, don't look at me like that." Gia speaks out loud, but the dog keeps staring at her. "Ho detto di no." Gia spoke louder, and the dog bowed her head. Gia really isn't as sadistic as her family, but she did feel some sort of accomplishment when the dog bowed her head.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the street, Arthur is grunting about the pain that Inspector Campbell has caused him. His sister Ada is giving everyone instructions to help tend to the wounds of the oldest sibling.

John didn't move but laughed. "Since when do you give orders?" He asks while finally getting up to help his older brother. "I'm a trained nurse." She answers while she keeps tending to his wounds.

"Don't make me laugh, it hurts my face." Says Arthur, clearly in pain. "I bloody am." Ada argues and stops to give them a serious look. "You went to one first aid class in the church hall. And got thrown out for giggling," John intervenes, laughing.

"Not before I learned how to stop somebody from choking." She defends herself. "I'm not bloody choking, am I?" Arthur asks sarcastically while taking a swig of his beer. "You will be when I wrap this cloth around your neck." She answers a little too seriously and pulls the cloth off his wound and puts it in front of his face.

Tommy hastily makes his way into the room to look at the damage Inspector left on his older brother. He takes the rag from John, who is still laughing at Arthur. He applies pressure to the wound and gives Arthur a bottle of rum that was lying on the table. That's when Arthur informs him, "He said Mr. Churchill sent him to Birmingham. National interest, he said. Something about a robbery."

Tommy backed away, and Aunt Pol eyed him with an 'I told you so' look on her face. "He said he wants us to help him." Arthur explains while putting the bottle of rum on his lips. "We don't help coppers." John intervenes, finally being serious about the situation. "He knew all about our war records. He said we're patriots like him. He wants us to be his eyes and ears. I said we'd have a family meeting and take a vote." Arthur grunts from the sting in his arm.

Tommy gave the rag back to John and took a couple of steps back, thinking about what his options were. His brother and aunt both ask him what they have to do but don't receive an answer. That's why you'll find Tommy Shelby alone most of the time. He needs to think about every situation his family can be in because the business they're in doesn't leave you with many other options other than to fight and protect what you've got from others.

His sister, Ada, wasn't listening to the family's conversation either. Her mind was with someone else. Freddie Thorne. The man of the hour He was Tommy's best comrade and saved his life in France. But they didn't get along anymore. Freddie is the complete opposite of Tommy. He's loud and welcomes people to join him in his fight.

People are always scared of the first man who opens his mouth. What you really should be looking out for is the quiet one. A fish that keeps its mouth shut has no chance of getting caught.
