Gia felt as if she had everything she wanted right there in her hand, but something missed. She couldn't put the finger on what exactly. She knew God had already written her faith, but she hated the fact that she didn't know what it was. Even if she had a husband, child, house, stable income. She didn't feel as if her life was quite done, yet with surprises.

She and Tommy drove to their house where the evening would continue with family. He placed on hand on her thigh. She looked up at him and kissed his neck. He took a right which took Gia off guard as the road to their house was straight on. She furrowed her brows and asked, "Tommy, what are you doing?" He sighed as they stopped next to another car.

"I won't have any of the bad blood on my carpet." He warned her as he stayed seated. Before she could ask what he was talking about, she saw a shadow in the corner of her eye. She moved her head as fast as she could in the direction of the movement. She saw her not so little godson and a figure behind him.

Before she could make out the dark shadow she was interrupted by Rocco who ran in her arms. The boy only had a couple of centimetres to go before he was as tall as his godmother. She hugged him back and took his face in her hands as she whispered with a soothing voice, "Ai, Tesoro. What are you doing here?"

He smiled brightly and answered, "Tommy said I could stay here for the night." She looked behind him and saw Angel sitting in the open car. She sighed and walked over to him. "Era troppo spaventato per venire di persona." She stated. "You don't have to talk in Italian. He understands more of the language than you know." He referred to Rocco, who had followed her to the car.

"Go greet Tommy." She ordered. "Why?" He asked her. "Because." She turned her head back to Angel. Only once the boy was out of hearing distance did they start talking again. "I see that you're not pregnant anymore." He stated as he looked at her flat stomach. "And I see that you're still a cazzo." She reacted to what he responded with a snort.

Both the siblings had small smiles on their faces. Of course, they would never admit they both missed these times. It was a known fact that the Changretta's were stubborn, but Gia was on the next level. She thought that she might not always be right, but she could never be wrong.

Gia broke the short-lasting silence by saying, "Why are you hiding behind him?" She was more hurt than irritated by the war that started months prior. This might have been the first time that she wasn't afraid of showing it. "He promised me protection and all that shit." He threw away his cigarette. Gia sighed because of her brother's ignorance and told him, "A golden cage is still a cage."

She turned around and walked over to the car, where she practically yelled, "I'm happy to see you, Angel." She stepped into the car and closed the door. She sighed loudly and turned to her now-husband. She smiled at him as a sign he could go on. The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies.

They arrived at their family cheering them on. Gia waited for Tommy to come to open her door and lead her inside. Once, inside the guest separated over the big house. Gia turned around and saw Rocco gawking at the many people. She checked her watch and then took his hand. She ran up the stairs like a little kid and yelled, "I have to show you something."

She walked to the end of the hallway and opened the wooden door that led to a big room. She waited for him, to be in the room before walking to the crib that was in the centre of the room. He walked slower than her, unsure if he was ready to see the big change. He looked down and saw two blue eyes looking right back at him.

She lifted her son and signalled Rocco to go sit in the rocking chair. He happily walked over and sat down nervously. Gia smiled at him before placing her son in his arms. She stood back up and observed the picture of the two together. She heard a noise in the hallway. She turned her head to look through the open door and saw Tommy ordering something to his brother who ran off. He hadn't seen her as he turned around and walked back into their room.

She bent down and gave her son and Rocco a kiss on the head. "Just stay right here." She ordered the boy who was amazed by the new family lid. She walked down the hallway. Before she would throw the door open and yell at Tommy for breaking his promise, she recollected herself. She breathed in and out. Before slowly turning the know and walking into their room with not a detail of anger written on her face.

"What are you doing up here?" He questioned her as he put a cigarette in his mouth. She didn't respond and waited for him to look her in the eye. As he looked up and repeated his question, she just ignored him and walked into their bathroom. She threw the door shut. She looked in the mirror and fixed her slightly messed up red lipstick.

He opened the bathroom door and walked up to her. When she still didn't give him the attention, he cleared his throat and asked her, "Didn't you hear me talking to ya?" She put her lipstick down and started fixing her hair. She was sure to answer him when had the time, so when she was done with her hair.

She turned around and answered, "I did. That's why I closed the door." She walked past him and went back into their bedroom leaving, Tommy alone. He walked faster, and a bit aggravated behind her. "I'm not going downstairs with you acting like this." He informed her. "Not a problem to me." She answered as she sat down and started reading a book.

He sighed loudly and walked over to her. He sat down in front of her and slowly closed her book. "What's going on?" He questioned her. She took her time before responding, "Ever since you came back from the Epsom races, you've been acting all secretive around me. Now I know there is business on your mind, and I know you haven't kept your promise. But is shutting me out really the best idea?"

He stood and walked over to the big window in the bedroom. She sighed and walked over to him. She put her elegant hand on his broad shoulder. She felt the muscles in his shoulder tense. "There is a part of me that is unfamiliar to myself, and I keep finding myself there." He looked up at her deep green eyes. He wouldn't exchange anything in the world for those green eyes. They could cure everything.

"Then don't keep me out." She whispered to him. He looked into her eyes and waited a moment. He got lost in her eyes and in his thoughts. If only he could explain what he felt. He would explain everything. He threw his cigarette in the ashtray and turned around to walk to the door. "Don't you dare walk through that door before we have talked this out." She voiced.

He sighed and closed the door. He turned around with a swift turn and told her "My family is everything to me, my strength, my power, my will. I won't excuse myself for doing what has to be done to keep them safe." She walked closer and told him, "I never asked for an excuse I just wish you would talk to me about what you truly feel and not keep me from shit. I can take shit. I hate that you think of me as someone weak."

"You really think I would be married to you if I thought you were weak? You keep up with me, that's pretty brawny to me." He joked as he walked up to her and took her into his arms. She sighed and mumbled, "I'm serious, I signed off half off my men to get you out of Luca's hands at Epsom. The least you could do is talk to me about it."

He kissed the top of her head. She looked up from his chest and smiled when he whispered, "I'll let you in, Mrs Shelby."
