Gia's dream was ruined, by loud noises. She slowly opened her eyes to be sure the sound wasn't part of her dream. She looked around and heard a more silent noise, but this time she was sure it wasn't from her dream. She looked outside to see the sun rising. She would guess it was around six am. She looked next to her in bed. She let her hand glide over the empty spot in the bed and sighed.
She let her curiosity get the best of her as she stood up and practically tiptoed out of her room. She slowly walked to the top of the stairs and looked over the rails. The big red carpet was luminous because of the chandelier that was dangling from the ceiling. She made her way to the bottom of the stairs and saw that Tommy's office door was open.
She made her way to the room thinking she would see an early maid, but to her surprise, she saw the back of a man. He obviously hadn't seen her as he gulped the last of his drink. Thinking about the first time she met him she recalled, "Drinking in the morning is not considered healthy." When the first letter left her mouth he froze.
"No rest for the wicked." He answered as the memorie of their first time meeting came into his head. She made her way towards him and placed her hand on his shoulder. "Come back to bed. You're being loud, you're going to wake up Elijah." He sighed and placed his left hand around her waist. He kissed the top of her head and nodded. "You promised no business today." She mentioned.
He sighed once again but louder and turned around "You're right." He kissed his soon to be lawfully wedded wife and walked to the door. She looked down to the papers and warned him, "If I find out you're doing business today, I'll have your fucking balls." He let her pass through the door and mumbled, "I'm sure you will."
She gave her son to Ada so he could play with Carl while she put her wedding dress on. "Come on, you've waited long enough to get married. Wouldn't want to get too late to your own wedding." Polly took her by the hand before helping her in her white wedding dress. There was a knock on the door. Gia looked behind the curtain that separated her from the rest to see her mother walk in.
She fastly finished putting the dress on so she could meet her mother. As she walked from behind the curtain, she heard various people gasp. She looked up and saw her mom in tears. She walked over to her daughter and put a family heirloom in her hair. "Erano di mia madre." She informed Gia. "Grazie." Gia thanked her mother.
She heard her three-month-old son cry and saw her mother's eyes light up. The woman walked over to meet her grandson, who now was passed to Roma. Gia wasn't only stressed about the ceremony itself but mostly about the two family's encounters. She was scared that her side of the room in the church would be mostly empty. Even though she had everyone she needed right here, she would be lying if she said that she didn't mind having completely empty seats.
She eyed the encounter between her mother and her son and mumbled to Ada. "Please, keep her close." Ada responded with a wink and smile. Gia had grown quite fond of the women in this room. Esme checked the clock and toned, "Come on let's go get you married." Gia was placed with her son in a beautiful car filled with white decorations.
Once they arrived, Elijah was taken away from her, by Polly who fastly went with the other women inside to take place. As the doors of the church opened, Tommy looked up to hopefully see the woman he loved and to ease his stress but was met with the women of his family making their way to the front to take a seat. Before Gia's mother could sit down she walked up to Tommy.
She placed her hand on his cheek and gave him a sweet smile. "Prenditi cura di mia figlia." Before, she made her way and sat with the rest of her family. Gia's side wasn't as empty as she might expect it to be. Her family, who came in mass, outshined the Shelby family with ease. All, wearing their best costumes and shoes. There were cousins, uncles, aunts, And family friends. But there were no siblings.
Tommy knew that that was what Gia would observe first and, sighed at their cowardness, even though he knew a fight would break out if they did come. She had sent a letter to them in the hope this would bring some kind of peace with the small hope she had left. And because she had no one to walk her down the aisle.
She looked at the big wooden doors and sighed. Behind those doors was everyone she ever loved, but most importantly Tommy and her son were there. Everything she needed was there for her to grasp. Yet something fell wrong until she felt a warm hand on her shoulder. She turned around and was met by her uncle, Antonio.
He had a scared but yet proud look in his eyes. She sighed with a smile on her face as he put his hand on her cheek. "You look great." He mumbled as he took away his hand from her face. He gave her his arm and asked, "Ready?" She took his arm and gave him a big smile. He gave a notice to the guards who held the door closed to open them.
Once the doors were all the way open, they started walking in. She searched for his blue eyes. He couldn't hide the smile on his normally hard exterior. Her uncle gave her a kiss and gave her hand to Tommy. Before they both directed their attention to the preacher he complimented her, "You look beautiful."
The ceremony itself wasn't very long, as Tommy requested. "Do you, Thomas Michael Shelby, take Giovanna Colosimo Changretta to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The preacher asked. "I do." His voice sounded loud and rough. "Do you, Giovanna Colosimo Changretta, promise to love and honour Thomas Michael Shelby till death do you part?" He asked Gia. "I do." She vowed. "I now pronounce you husband and wife." He smiled.
He placed his hand on her cheek to kiss her. The now cold band of his golden ring was a change Gia would have no problem adjusting to.
