He sits on the edge of his office chair, almost slipping away. She, on the other side of the room. The silence makes them able to hear each other's breathing and the pouring rain outside.
Not a word is to be found on each other's lips. Antonio and Roma decided sooner in the evening to leave the couple to talk. Though, Antonio is sure to have a word with them in the morning.
It's pitch dark outside, and hours have passed since the birds finished singing their last songs. The realisation hit Gia like a train riding on the wrong path. Her doom will never look like a fairytale.
Her destiny is dark and filled with poison. Yet, Tommy's is worse. The sigh that escapes his mouth takes her attention. She looks up to find a tornado with dreamy eyes and a broken heart.
In contrast to Gia, the only thing Tommy can hear are those damn shovels. He remembers how happy he was when he saw the blinding light after days of shovelling. The sound of trenching only gets louder and hisses in his ears.
No matter what he tries the sound kept on reverberating in his head, until he hears a honey-sweet voice and feels a soft hand on his neck.
Now, bend over with his elbows placed on his knees, he opens his eyes. Her beautiful green eyes, which reminds him of the diamond on her finger, are searching for his.
He places his rough hand on the back of her neck and pulls her closer. Head's against each other, the couple closes their eyes.
"What happened?" She breaks the silence Tommy is so used to. He loudly sighs and backs his head away. "Things are going to change around here." He admits with a rough voice.
His voice reminds her of the winter, it's cold, quiet, and stunned. "What are you talking about, my love?" She questions.
When she gets no response, but a look of Tommy. The look in his eyes are cold, but when he looks at Gia it's a different kind of cold.
It's when you go to sleep with autumn but wake up with the winter kind of cold. You walk outside when the cold hit's you like a slap in the face, making your nose red, type of cold.
She stands up from her kneeling position and locks her eyes with his. "This ring that you gave me is a way to a bigger promise. The promise that we're equal. If you can't hold that promise by keeping secrets from me, we will not be able to do this."
"I know you want me to be safe, but I've lived this life since the day that I'm born. There will be things that you won't be able to keep me from." She informs him as she stands up to walk out.
"We were attacked by order of Luca Changretta." He tells her. Without turning around she voices "He's my brother, I'll deal with it." He stands up to stop her and says "No, you won't."
"Excuse me?" She turns around. He looks at the papers in front of him and tones "If you can't do it, it's normal. He's your brother. Let me deal with it."
Gia doesn't answer at first which makes Tommy rethink what he just said. With a stern look on her face, that gives away that she doesn't like people dealing with her business, she declares "I'll do what I have to do." and with a slam of the door, she's out of his office.
Gia slips into her bed and closes her eyes in the hope that it will darken her mind for a couple of hours. Suddenly, she feels the bed shift slightly. She isn't mad at Tommy but more irritated with herself.
The warmness that the blanket carries escapes as he gets under it. Still too full of herself, she doesn't open her eyes to acknowledge him. First, she feels his breath on her forehead, thereafter his full lips. "Goodnight Gia." He kisses her.
She opens her eyes to see his deep eyes looking right at her. With both their heads on the cushions the couple looks at each other. "Let's take back what's ours." She whispers before she lays her head on his chest and closes her eyes.
To say that he fell even more in love with her in that very second. The fire in her eyes and the confidence in her voice is enough to make a man like Tommy fall in love. Oh, what is she savage in satin, he grins slightly.
The morning after, they would both go to their office. Only this time it's not separate. Tommy made sure she knew that what is his is also hers. It's their office, their house, their love.
Before they walk into his office, while talking about places to build new offices, she sees a tall woman working.
They both share a vicious look. As the woman eyes Gia's figure up and down, she wacthes her disappear into his office. When the door closes she can just make out the difference due to the ribbed window.
Gia's heels sound loud as she walks over to a chair. She takes a cigarette out of Tommy's pack and lights it. As the smoke escapes her lips she stands up and walks over to him, leaving the smoke to dance around her face.
He takes his office chair and turns it around for he to sit on. As she sits down he turns the chair around so she faces him.
With an erotic sent on her she asks "When are we going to London?" He places the glass of whiskey he just got behind her on his bureau, leaving her in the shadow of his torso.
He takes a drag of her cigarette and answers "Tomorrow." As he's dangerously close to her. She goes in and kisses him. Making a moan escape his lips.
That's the little extra reassurance she needed to stand up and push him down on the chair. Without breaking the kiss, she sits on his lap. Her hands roam his upper body, and his her back.
She slowly starts to open his pants as she gets down from his lap. She exposes him while sitting on her knees and places her lips around his tip, she let's her mouth do the rest fo the work.
As she starts to feel like he's getting closer, she stands up from her knees and sits herself down on him, making sure both their moans are heard by his secretary.
Once the couple's done they cleane up and start to work. After an hour Gia leaves him with a kiss as she needs to head to her own office. On the way out she stops in front of the woman. "What's your name?" She questions.
"Lizzie Stark." The woman answers a bit irritated. "Well, Lizzie, here is some work you need to finish by the end of the day for my fiancé." She places the paper Tommy gave her on the table and leaves an irritated Lizzie behind.
